Grindhouse (Death Proof / Planet Terror) (2-Disc Collector s Edition)

Planet Terror is is by far one of the best zombie movies I have ever seen. Each and every aspect has been decayed to it's most pristine condition ready to serve up a hot plate of bullets, blood, and bodies. If you are a fan of zombies, Robert Rodriguez, and Texas give Planet Terror a watch! Had enough? No? Thought so. The next course is Quentin Tarantinos Death Proof. A look into the eyes of a homicidal race car driver who has made his car literally death proof. Do you like fast and high octane car chases and crashes? Well this should fill you up! Lastly we cannot forget the three delicious side commercials in between showing some of cinemas not to be released up and coming titles!

As with all of my movie purchases, I already saw it multiple times. Believe it or not, during the time it was released to DVD, I had the worst insomnia and the 'making of' Death Proof and Planet Terror were in Youtube clips. Insomnia, unhappy in Humboldt (there is a title for any horror movie) and the beautifully strong women in both movies led me to the impulsive decision of moving to Austin. Yep. Now I live in Austin. It's a huge city. That's why movies have a creative license for creating a fantasy city with white lies like, "That's what I love about Austin. It's such a small town." Fantasy aside, I loved both movies, played in the order both directors intended them to be seen in. Both very different and both excellent. I wish more Grindhouse films came to the local theaters.

I thought I was back in the 70's when watching these films. They're made and edited as if they were produced in the 70's although they were released in the summer of 2007. I'm a big Tarantino fan and own most of all of his work. He could make a movie about dirt and I'd buy it. The car chase in Death Proof was about three quarters into the move was the only thing I appreciated. Rodriguez film Planet Terror was also made like it was a cheap 70's film. So unless you're a diehard fan of Tarantino and Rodriguez, you might not care to waste your time watching these two flicks.

Love this movie. So much fun. However, I had a question, this is the 4th time I have purchased this DVD and every one starts freezing up during "Planet Terror", near the beginning, as she is about to introduce her "colorful little friends", to inject the dude with, at the hospital. It doesn't seem intentional because the film would burn if held for that long. It goes on for a while then stops... But every time I have bought this? Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you very much!

If you live Quinten Tarantino you must get these.He has a part in these movies and Mr.Rodriguez is masterful in making them. Really very good movies!

Good movie

Great movie, reminds me of movie back in the day

Firstly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the seller or dvd itself. Quick delivery, excellent quality.My problem is that I got the collectors edition assuming it would be the complete feature, and it is not. There are important scenes cut from this version of Deathproof that means the storyline doesn’t entirely make sense. Going to shelve this one and buy the extended and uncut version separately because I love the film, the full one!

What can I say - Grindhouse all the way. Really enjoyed these movies.
