I don’t have a garage so this is great to cover the windshield from bird droppings and dust in the summer and snow in the winter. I think it is worth the effort to put it on and take it off. But it is easy to do

While I love the ease of install/use/removal, the cover is cracked and disintegrating after only a few uses. I park my car in the driveway, and I HATE having to clear snow off and ice off of my car's windshield. When bad weather is forecast, I put this on my windshield. The next morning, I remove it and hang the shield to drip dry in my house. It is not thrown on the ground nor stored in my car. We had a mild winter, and the shield was used fewer than 6 times since Christmas. The backing of the shield (the part that goes against the windshield) is cracked and falling apart. If you hold up the shield, you can see through it in several spots. I am not sure it will last through the next winter.

This was a very welcome product when my mechanic said water was leaking into my car from rain and/or snow. I had read several reviews where the reviewer said the cover was sticking to the windshild and when they tried to take it off, it ripped. I contacted customer service and the rep said that happened because there was water or wetness under the cover when they put it on and it froze. The remedy for that was to pour warm water over the spot to melt the ice. Upon looking at the insert that came with the product, I saw in fine print tips and potential problems and remedies and this issue was covered in that. The reason I gave it a four star instead of a five, is because when pulling the straps to anchor the coverto the inside, one side of it came undone. The stitching was not secure. Yes, I did give it a good yank, but it shouldn't have just detatched from the opposite side from the clip.that easily. Fortunately, I sew. I used a strong thread and repaired the strap. This fits really well (not perfect) but it is a universal size. It was easy to put on and take off. Next week it is supposed to rain for four days, so i got it just in time.

This product is durable and super easy to use. However, the second time I used it, the strap that goes over the passenger side mirror came unsewed. There are several other places that the sewing is weak as well. Since I have a sewing machine I was able to fix the problem but for those who don't sew, it might not be a good buy.

First of all, I normally wouldn't be drawn to something that looks like it would be difficult to use, but this has proven to be way easy. I read somewhere in another review the time it takes to install and remove verses the time it takes to scrape a windshield off and clean out the gutter is no comparison. It's true. This cover was so easy to install and remove I actually love it. Just remember to have the flap overlap the gutter at the bottom of your windshield where the windshield wipers lay and secure it to the wheel and you are ice free when you remove it. The only thing that I do not feel 100% comfortable with, at the same time cannot see any way around it, is the storing part of it. Because the fabric naturally gets cold under the snow, I don't feel comfortable folding the material use after use. I would think it would naturally wear faster and I don't want to risk it. I just store mine in the trunk. I would recommend your trunk be clear of items you don't want to be slightly wet from whatever little bit of snow you missed from wiping off or shaking it. I mean, you need to keep a clean trunk anyway, right? Only reason for the four stars, even though I don't personally see a way around it, is the storage. Other than that I feel I made a great choice.

This is very large and has a lot of straps. That said it gets the job done. I have a different set I like a lot more b/c it’s so much faster with elastic straps that just hook around the mirrors. If I was purchasing again I’d buy a different one.

This is great for a windy day.. stays in place. But it needs to be better insulated to prevent frost from forming on windshield. The whole point is not to have to scrape or brush the snow off!For context we live in Saskatchewan so winters can be harsh

This product was great in regular snow. Freezing rain is another story. Despite starting my car and having the defrost on, it started to separate and left chunks behind on my windshield. I didn't think I'd swap scraping ice for scraping fabric.

I recently purchased this snow shield for my old Ford Contour (I'm disabled by chronic pain and scraping ice and snow just isn't doable anymore) and I'm really impressed with the fit and materials.The straps that buckle together inside the vehicle are an excellent feature to keep it secure and help with installation when it's windy. They are made of a durable webbing material. The elastic that goes around the mirrors and attached to the hooks that connect to the wheel rims is also a stronger, more durable material and the hooks won't bend easily.I live in a region with frequent episodes of freezing rain and high winds during the winter and I've gone through four different windshield covers in the past decade. None of them even came close to measuring up to this one...they were all pretty cheap with a terrible fit (which is really important). I wish this one had been available before, as it would have saved me a lot more than what I paid for the others put together...it's definitely worth the price. I'm sure this windshield cover will last longer than whatever life is left in my old car and probably be resellable if I don't find a car the same size to use it with. I highly recommend this product.My only complaint is that it takes longer for this item to arrive.
