Dryer works well
This dryer gets hot 🔥... it dries hair well. Couldn't figure out what the long string. (For those of us who hate to read directions; it is to let the hose stretch out and to draw it back in 🤪. Overall the dryer works well.

Perfect for home hair coloring
When I decided to start coloring my hair myself to save money, I remembered that my grandmother had always used a bonnet dryer when she dyed her hair. Heat helps the hair absorb the color better, and this uniy was affordable at $35, so I decided to give it a try. This dryer is very similar to the old-school models, but small and light. The ones my older relatives used were huge and took up a ton of closet space. This, however, is about the size of a cereal box.My medium/fine hair has been anywhere from short to shoulder-length, and the bonnet has accommodated my hair plus a microfiber turban towel with plenty of room to spare. I can't speak to how well it would dry wet hair, but I have run it off and on for up to 4 hours while bleach, dye, or henna sets, and it has worked perfectly. There are 3 heat settings and they have a distinct temperature difference ranging from slightly warm to what feels like the same amount of heat my hand blowdryer generates. The noise level is also similar to a hand blowdryer.Other reviewers have had the following issues that I think were user error:1. Bonnet disconnecting from hose: When attaching the hose, twist until you feel/hear a firm click. There is a point where it feels like it has twisted as far as it can go, but turn it just a smidge farther. Once it clicks, it will not come loose.2. Hose won't fit inside the case: Use the drawstring to cinch the hose up as short as it will go and secure the bead next to the hose so the drawstring stays tight. The compacted hose will fold right into the case.3. The power cord is short: This is true, but the cord also needs to be able to fit inside the case. I use the dryer while sitting in my cozy chair, and there is an outlet right beside it. The cord is plenty long to use the dryer like this. Or if someone really can't sit within 4 feet of an outlet, they could easily use an extension cord.Hopefully this dryer will continue to perform the way it does now and I can keep saving money by playing Beauty Shop at home!

Works but not for frequent use
Bonnet is white plastic, like what a shower curtain liner is made of. The elastic around the bonnet is very tight, it does have an adjustment button but even let out all the way it is pretty short. This dryer does the job though, despite being uncomfortable. If you plan to use a bonnet dryer a lot I would purchase a higher price point and look for a fabric type bonnet.

Works well....when you can get it on
NEW REVIEW: Having lived with this thing for a year now I am labeling it junk. The hose does not stay attached to the bonnet; and even if you can get it to stay put the bonnet is unusable unless you're using pincurls. I am VERY disappointed in this thing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Back in the '60s I had a bonnet hair dryer that worked beautifully and did not require a struggle to use. The bonnet of this miserable machine is not designed for curlers. It does not open wide enough to accommodate them. I have to maneuver, stuff and struggle to get the curlers in the bonnet -- and, being older with fine, thinning hair, there are not that many curlers. Then getting the hose to stay attached to the bonnet requires the assistance of my husband. It's compact and self-stores the hose and cord in a light-weight case, but those things do not offset the unpleasantness of the struggle to use it. I actually dread washing my hair and the attendant thought of using this miserable contraption.

Works but a very poor design
I bought this because I was hoping to save myself some time and energy drying my hair. I started washing my hair at night to save me some hassle in the morning and I wanted to be able to sit and watch television or go online while my hair was drying. I remembered using a tabletop dryer when I was young because there was no such thing as a blow dryer! LOL. This product works quite well, and I was surprised that my hair had quite a bit of volume, which I really like for my wavy thick hair. I also have fine hair so it's difficult to style. My problem is mainly with the tank, I guess what you would call it? The two times I opened the storage compartment, I had to get a knife out of my kitchen to release the little door because the notch where you put your finger to open it is very small and not smooth. Plus it locks very tightly and my fingers aren't strong enough to open it. Also, the compartment is too small and I really struggled to put the cord and the tubing back into the compartment. I finally gave up because it was so late at night. After setting it up, putting the Bonnet on and trying to get everything put back together, I could have had my hair dried with a regular blow dryer and already been to bed.My last comment is, that I guess the tubing needs to go up the back of your head and I had it on the side because that's where the tank was sitting and the air was not flowing all the way around my head. If I use it again I would put it around the back but that would definitely make it more difficult to use it anywhere that I would sit. I agree with other people saying that the tubing is too short. It probably should be twice as long. I do appreciate the long power cord, however. I have not decded but I'm about 90% sure I will return it and try one that connects to my personal blow dryer. All in all, if you are not looking for something as a timesaver, I think you will like this bonnet dryer. But, if you don't like the hassle of opening and closing the compartment and getting the Bonnet on correctly, you may not appreciate this as well as some people do.
