The only capo tha i will use.
I like this capo because #1 the handle down along side of the neck and not sticking upand looking tacky. # 2 the pad that presses on the string has just right density to hold the strings down without throwing them out of tune. I place the capo very close to the fret and have no detuning.

Jim Dunlop Trigger Guitar Capo
I bought a Jim Dunlop Trigger capo as an alternative to the Kyser capos I use on my steel-string acoustic and electric guitars, and to the Shubb capo I use on my nylon-string guitar. Overall, the Jim Dunlop Trigger capo is pretty good. It is not so tight as the Kyser, and it does not seem to interfere with tuning much at all. On the neck of my 6-string acoustic (Wechter Pathmaker Elite, #27), it has to be positioned very carefully with two hands to make sure it is tight enough on the bass strings while being angled somewhat towards the nut on the treble string side so that it does not interfere with one's fretting hand.It is a bit fiddly and a bit bulky compared to the Kyser capo, but if speed of repositioning is not an issue, this capo would be a good one, especially for recording, but a Shubb would probably be best for that purpose. The Jim Dunlop Trigger capo has a more ergonomic adjustment mechanism than that of the Kyser and poses less of a damage hazard to one's guitar. The first capo I bought was a black Kyser capo, purchased in 1993. I still have it and it still works great. It is a little on the tight side and might interfere a bit with tuning, but I would much rather have a capo that is too tight than one that is too loose. The Kyser cannot be beat for one-handed use and quick capo position changes, and its slender profile means it can be placed fairly close behind the fret without getting in the way of one's fretting hand. The only caveat is that one should always be extremely careful handling a piece of spring-loaded aircraft aluminum near a premium guitar. If the Kyser capo slips out of your hand when the spring is compressed, it could do a little damage to your guitar, so hold on tightly and keep those hands from getting to sweaty and oily!I am glad I did not purchase a G7th Nashville capo as many reviews seem to suggest that it is loose compared with the Jim Dunlop Trigger capo, and to me, the Jim Dunlop Trigger capo is almost too lose for my tastes!Good luck with your purchases. For absolute precision and safety, the Shubb capos are the best as the tension can be adjusted, and they are very slim in their profile. They are fiddly and require two hands for adjustment, but once you have them in place, they are perfect. That is why I have one for my nylon-string (classical) guitar (Alvarez-Yairi CY-116).

Very impressed with shipping time. Effective capo, and very cheap!
This capo is great. I mean they all serve the same purpose and do it effectively, but I can trust this product and I like the seller. I got the product with 2 days free shipping, but recieved it the next morning. Dunlop shipped the product not even 2 hours after I placed the order, so I am impressed. I couldn't even have run to my local music shop in that much time with my hectic schedule. Good job on staying on top of your stuff, Dunlop! Also, about the toughness of the capo to open.. I think Dunlop knows what they are doing. A good capo must be strong enough to hold all the strings down evenly and with enough pressure to not leave any room for buzzing, and it must be strong enough to last an extended amount of time. I can easily take it with one hand and open it and slap it on my guitar neck, and I can move it around while still on my neck too. It really isn't that difficult, and I don't think people complaining about this capo really have any knowledge of capos or experience with other capos. However, if pressure really is an issue for you, check out Shubb capos. They have adjustable tensions and you move it around on your neck and lock it closed when you know which fret you want to play on, but this option 1)takes longer to move around since it's adjustable and 2)is more than twice the price. It is a solid product though.

Excellent capo!
When you buy a Dunlop capo, you will not be disappointed. My mom gave me a chinese copy of this capo. I did try to use the piece of junk. Then I threw it against the wall of my living-room. Do yourself a favor, buy a real American made one. The Dunlop capo is much better quality!! Give a chinese capo to people you don't like.

Very good capo--Excellent for quick-changing.
I've used every kind of capo in existence (OK--a little exaggerated) from rubber bands and a ballpoint pen to the old-fashioned swing-gate-and-turnscrew types, and most of them work pretty well. But If you're looking for something you can grab and mount, something you can quickly shift from one fret to another, even during a tune, this is one of the best. There are other fast-mount capos that work pretty well, but others have a tendency to twist in one's hand (well, in MY hand) when you are shifting them, or they make you bring your hand over the edge of fretboard to grab them. This one is easy and pretty foolproof. It is also strong enough to use on a 12-string, which not all spring-type clamps will handle. That might be its one drawback, though--it's a pretty firm clamp-down, and you will get a little "sharpening," particularly of the lower (heavier) strings, because it really bottoms them out hard between frets. (This is where the screw-down ones may be better). On the other hand, if you have it on,say, the third fret, and have properly tuned to compensate for the capo, then shifting it one or two frets in either direction won't make as much difference. There are spring-type capos that claim to eliminate the note-raising effect, but I haven't been too impressed with them--and this one beats them all for quick-changing.

Top Quality and dependable.
Ive had many different capo's , most either dont work or break , or both. These Jim Dunlop Capo's are solid and dependable and built to last. This one i bought is my second , the other one ive had more years than i can remember and is till going strong. The problem is i'm always trying to find it amongst all my others so thought i'd buy a second one so i have one upstairs and one downstairs!!so worth every penny , even if they are a little more money than some others.

Almost faultless
I first used one of these years ago and it was perfect. This version seems to have grown a bit and is just as good but a bit too long on my Fender CC60-S, though it can be moved back a bit to compensate. The spring - as before - is definitely strong enough to make sure that there is no buzz.It is my go-to Capo: there may be better ones out there but based on my own experience, I wouldn't bother with anything else.

Essential Piece Of Kit...
....for EVERY guitarist!!My only gripe is that, on the package it says 'For Acoustic Guitars'. As far as I recall that wasn't part of the description!!Even so, it works fine on my 60's Strat.Capo's are so underrated; can help change the key you play in and/or your chord voicings!!Give them a try!!This one is easy to use and each note comes out clear and strong....and in tune too!

Great capo
I bought this Trigger Capo to replace my cheap 'wrap' around strap Jim Dunlop Capo. This capo really sounds great on my fender acoustic -much improvement on my previous cheaper JM capo which was good but this one is great! Great value buying via Amazon (I'm really sorry but my local musical instrument store rrp £19.99 and I think at the time I bought this Amazon charged me £12.99)I use it all the time and it has never let me down.
