They didn't lie about the plastic cracking, but if you can make your own, get it
I love the looks and performance of this air filter and the price is jaw dropping. Would easily buy again and compared to the $500 options and I think this looks and performs just as well if not better. With a couple of modifications you can get an awesome intake for about 60 bucks total. The main components of this product are great, make sure to use thread locker, and here are the issues and the fixes listed below.-The clear cover does crack very easily, I tried to tighten the fasteners in a crisscross pattern and only snugged them down with threadlocker but it still cracked. The issue is the fasteners are hard metal vibrating against brittle plexi. You could probably fix this by getting teflon washers or maybe even finding some plastic fasteners. I cut my own cover using the old one as a template but I ended up using a slightly thinner more flexible piece of lexan. If you are not willing to do this work they do make the same intake with a metal cover so you can go that route. I just love seeing my throttle plate move and the inside of the filter. Also makes cable adjustments much easier.-Finally the filter quality. It is okay but I just did not trust the element, also you're going to have to oil it so make sure you have that as well before you put it on. Personally I wanted peace of mind and would rather spend a little now for engine safety instead of a lot later in case the filter let too much stuff in. KN makes a filter the exact right size for this and fits more snugly between the 2 plates. I would post the model number but do not want to get in trouble with the seller or Amazon overlords. Just measure the filter and go to their website and you should be able to find the replacement. ($30)Hope this helps someone out there that doesn't mind putting in a little work to save hundreds of dollars and get a product that looks and performs well.

Perfect quality and fit.
Amazon wins again. Price, quality and fit. There's no way I would buy a high dollar brand when Amazon continues to provide a fantastic product at an unbeatable price. I bought the bike wrecked expecting it to take me months to get it going due to money. I sourced all the replacement parts on Amazon and will have it running in less than two weeks.

Looked and seemed perfect.
Looks like it would have been perfect. But it didn’t fit my ‘87!

Just In Case You're Wondering... Can Be Retrofitted To a Buell Blast. But Why?
We'll get to the details about the headline in a second. First, let's just get the main point out of the way that this filter assembly is crap. The air flow is worse than stock, filtration is suspect, and the included mounting hardware is garbage, and the clear plastic cover on mine began to discolor immediately and cracked within days.As you're probably aware, the Blast basically has a Harley Sportster engine with one cylinder sawn off. The bolt hole pattern on the intake and throttle body diameter are the same. So with very minor modification, e.g. grinding off about 1/8" of nonessential material at the top of the aluminum mounting assembly, you can bolt this right up to a Buell Blast intake. You do have to block off the channels for the breathers that run through the two "ears" on the mounting plate, though, since the Buell's breather runs differently. I just gooped up the holes with black RTV and it worked fine.Worked, of course, only for suitably small values of "worked." This filter has vastly insufficient surface area for even a single cylinder Blast. Fitting it to a Sportster would be incredibly counterproductive -- you'd probably lose about 10 horsepower. Also don't forget the Loctite: there are a lot of screws in this thing and all of them fit their holes very poorly and will vibrate out within minutes (no joke -- I lost one of the little screws that holds the plastic cover on within 30 seconds of starting the bike). But if you're into making your bike slower and probably less reliable, by all means waste some money on this thing. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Maybe it's Opposite Day where you live right now.

Fits perfect looks great but the clear plastic piece cracked after installing.
It fit perfectly on my 05 Sportster and looked great but the clear plastic piece cracked right after install. Very easy to put on though.
