Klipsch RP-504C, 1065810

After researching, I recently purchased the RP280F, rather than the 8000,( Another story.) and have now added the RP504C. This is a very large centre speaker, approx 31x14x7inches, and weighs around 34lbs.,so make sure you have the room, and a shelf strong enough, to put it on. Power handling, is up to 150 watts, and the efficiency at 97db of the centre, and the 280, gives a fine integration.It uses a 1"horn, and 4, 5 and a quarter inch metallic bass/mids.It is hardly mentioned, but it uses a 3way crossover as well. Dialog is clear, with an excellent depth, and width to the soundstage.You could almost get rid of any subs you have, because of the depth of the sound, but I would still recommend subs. The crossover also tames the treble, that a couple of the previous models had a problem with. I have also raised the front, to point towards my ear level. This combination, gives a very wide and deep soundstage, with an out of the box projected image. I thought it might need a bit of EQ, but not found it necessary, and as an added bonus, because of the efficiency, my amps run at 50%, to give me Concert Hall Levels, rather than 60% they used to run at, and NO, I do not have any neighbours to annoy!. A highly recommended product.

The first part and the excellent rating refer to the product. The speaker met all my expectations. Clear sound, powerful and aesthetic.As to the buying experience - the 2nd. Part of this review, well, that was not that good.I live in Israel. Contrary to my expectation, I was asked to add a substantial sum on top of the heavy shipping costs.The courier was fedex. They wouldn't deliver it to my home address as they don't deliver on friday nor on saturday. So I had to pick it up from their centre. Remote parking, and they didn't offer any help in carrying it to my car. Now that is a heavy and speaker with a problematic centre of gravity and I had to struggle with it by myself. All in all - zero stars to the buying experience

Had the RP-500C upgraded to RP-504C and the sound is so much better. Would recommend this if you need to upgrade or just want to get a new centre speaker. Great value when purchased @ 465.00Beware!! This speaker is quite a bit larger than the 500C but I did know that before purchasing.

Perfect clear sound

Overall, I am mostly happy with the speaker but not quite as impressed as my fellow reviewers. To me, the clarity is so sharp at times it hurts my ears, I can feel my ear drums promptly going into reverse polarity. I either have very delicate ears or I need to do some adjustments.
