A really lovely decorative item, but if you are looking for something that gives off a good, bright light, then this is not it!Really more of a decoration than a lamp, but it is very pretty. Although it appears to me made from metal, it's actually ceramic with a silver paint to give the effect.The cut outs on the exterior give a very pretty effect and it's quite soothing.A lovely addition to any room, but really more for effect than light.

This is an odd one! The lamp itself is shiny metallic and when switched off looks very attractive. However when you switch the lamp on the metallic effect becomes much duller and the amount of light it gives off is fairly minimal. I found it odd that a lamp would be so much less attractive when switched on, but there it is. Others may find it ideal as a decorative object, but I was not very impressed.

This is an unusual little lamp, being seriously silver to look at - but actually it's ceramic with a silver glaze. It looks very pretty and exotic as a decorative item and, when the light's turned on, it looks very attractive and atmospheric. Not brilliant for giving loads of light but, if you like to turn the main lights down and just have a few well-placed low lights around the room, this is ideal, is it throws a lovely pattern of light around the room - and you can choose how strong the bulb is (up to a point - it takes a small screw-in) to control how bright. I've put a 40w LED bulb in mine and it's great at night with all the other lights off - so pretty.

This looks like something you'd get in Marrakech, but without the haggling. It's basically a moulded shape with a light bulb in the middle of it... You'll want it positioned on a mid- to high-level shelf, where the various shapes of light can escape around your room, which is pretty. (The trouble of having it on a low-level is that lots of light escapes from the top and it'll blind you if you look down.) The build quality appears very good, and the power cables are of a good standard. The switch is positioned a few inches along the cable from the main unit. The bulb fit is E14 / SES.
