SMC 6 Bar NFPA Standard Rack

This is a must have piece of gear to have in any kind of rescue kit. Very very well made heavy duty, worth every dollar, plus tax, ha. After looking over many of the options that the competition have I chose this one above all the rest. Mostly because of the design and size but also for the assurance of a quality product that won't fail There is a more expensive one that has hollow tubes but why pay more for Less so to speak. As some other comment said it takes a little push and shove to get the bars around the curve and if you put the screw nut on properly it won't come off. It's one of those not slipping security nuts that has some kind of plastic coating on one side. I had a small technical question and their service department emailed me back within two hours so it's nice to know that service is there when you need it from a company. That's what you get when it's made by good people. My question would have been resolved if I had read the instructions so don't do like me it was only that I didn't think the Bars were going to make it around the bend and I didn't want to force them. This is a quality product, only the best when your life depends on it.

This rack works just like any other. My only dislike is that it came incorrectly assembled from the manufacturer. Normally the SMC racks are bomb proof.While 300 feet into a 600 foot repell, the nut disappeared and several bars were overly ambitious to reach the bottom of the pit before the rest of the rack.

Works great. Comes with instructions. Would only be better if it came with the brake bars already installed, you have to work them around the curve of the metal frame to get them in the right position. For a moment I thought they sent me the wrong ones.

Worked great in our descender application

I use this for lowering loads from a tower-top rope hoisting system. It's great in providing a slow and controlled decent, and is very simple to use.

The media could not be loaded.  Absolute garbage. None of it is assembled or even finished, there is no way to to assemble it because there are no holes in any of the tie off bars. My dog could have fabricated a better rack.
