Love this journal so much!
Would be a WONDERFUL gift for a new graduate! Any gender, and any age. Looks like it will be a wonderful keepsake. Or a gift for any purpose, any time.I really love to BUY and COLLECT journals, but have trouble actually writing in them. I say this so you know that I have purchased far too many journals in my life time and I LOVE these that are leather, made by hand or look like they are made by hand. I have bought so many, but when they have arrived they were disappointing - thin paper, falling apart. THIS JOURNAL, though, is AMAZING! It FEELS so nice in my hands, the paper is nice and thick so my nicer pens won't bleed through, it is lined, but the lines aren't too dark, so it will be nice to write on. This journal feels like something that you could keep and use for years and will last. Makes me think of old books handed down for generations, or a travel journal that someone has kept for a life time. This journal is not refillable, the page signatures are stitched into the spine, but the signatures allow the book to lay fairly flat for writing on.Also, gotta say - I love the sticker the seller puts on the box, too. It is a simple little thing, but I just love it. Make it feel small business, and like the customers really matter to the seller.

A really nice, trusty journal
This is a trusty, good journal that I have been using for daily journaling for over two years now. I will stay a customer for as long as these stay on the market, because they are so well made and are such a pleasure to use.The paper is good quality, with spacious lining and great thickness so the ink doesn’t easily bleed to the other side. The cover is nice leather, with genuine leather strap that holds the journal closed for you. I usually take the strap out, however, and just clip the cover with my pens that I use to write in the journal, which is very handy. The genuine leather and kraft paper also give the journal a nice smell. I enjoy the smell of genuine leather and stationery, and it is still there over a year later, but if thats something that bothers you then this journal might not be for you.The paper is a great yellowed color, and the lining isn’t too bold, so it doesn’t stand out too much if drawn over. There are no other formatting or styling on the pages, which I enjoy for journaling freedom.I appreciate the pen included, though I do not use them because I prefer a very specific brand for my writing. The pen is still a nice quality, though, if you are not picky!Overall, highly recommend, for keeping in your bag for notetaking, or journaling, or whatever your needs may be! This journal will also hold up well to travel and long-time use, as well as any other arts and crafts you may want to do to it :)

Sturdy vintage look.
We purchased two of these for our 2024 motorcycle travel his & hers journals. The pictures and the actual item look and feel like something from an Indiana Jones movie. I didn't bring my normal journal when riding solo in 2023 because I wanted something more resilient to normal camping & travel abuse. This journal looks up to that task.I travel in all weather and plan to store it in a plastic bag. But I desired extra protection, and therefore applied a homemade wax&oil leather/wood treatment on mine. The outside leather seems unchanged. But the inside surface and edges are no longer just raw untreated leather.During application I slid the sewn in paper stack inside of a plastic bag. Letting the wax&oil sink into the leather for about an hour before wiping off any remaining with a paper towel. The paper towel came away with chestnut stains from the leather die. The plastic remained on overnight, then a sheet of laser printer paper was placed between the sewn in pages and leather. That test went well and no wax, oil or die leached into the front or rear sewn in pages. The only stain on the sewn pages occur near the binding where the plastic bag pulled away while I was wiping on the wax&oil.Like any tanned leather I suspect this will stain things if it gets wet. Hopefully I have reduced that staining by treating the leather. Best case it just never gets wet. Nobody should be expect it to be waterproof. But it's so rugged you'll be tempted to take it canoeing, where anything is possible.I am satisfied that it's real leather, of substantial quality, and worth the money spent on it. If you've read the reviews you might be worried it's fake leather. I don't believe it is. It may not be top grain leather, butmy two samples are a decent thickness of uniform leather. Neither one very distressed looking out of the box.I almost went with another brand because the binding on this "looked like leather" in the photos. It is actually bound with a heavy waxed thread, not leather. This is a good thing, because the thread will hold up better than a leather cord would. The idea of removing the booklets and rebinding held some interest for me. It would be kind of fun to do that just to see how the great looking binding is done. Blank books are available in bulk, so sourcing them is possible. Note that each of the sewn in booklets have no staples or covers on them. So after unbinding these pages would need to be either stapled or rebound into another "book cover".

Awesome Journal
Love this! Especially the structure of the book, being smaller sections bounced into one big one. Use it constantly. Great size, paper feel, and even the pen that comes with it feels great on the page. Highly recommend!
