I love my new iron
I love this iron. I make quilts and it is perfect. It gets really hot, has a good burst of steam when needed and it doesn't shut off every five minutes. I went to home depot and purchased a ceramic tile to put under the iron rest because I felt the ironing board got way too hot. I think this iron would be perfect for pressing clothes too. I think it would get the wrinkles out of anything.

Avoid this Brand of Iron
In all honesty I would buy another Brand of Gravity Feed Iron. Here is my Review..My first Pacific Steam gravity feed iron lasted about 6 good years before it quit steaming. Because of that longevity, and loving the gravity feed concept I decided to buy another Pacific Steam gravity feed iron.I did not buy my Pacific Steam PSI-5E from Amazon. They weren't available then, price paid was lower. This Review is a warning of this poorly made product. Looks good, looks like it should last for many years of heavy service, and these irons should last with proper care.Well I do not recommend this Pacific Steam product. The first PSI-5E I received would not reach a temperature to press a 100 % cotton tablecloth, or napkin. And it was spitting out little black metal on the fabric. Packed it up, and sent it back for a replacement. The 2nd Iron arrived. Did the entire set up again including demineralizer, new bottle, hoses, etc. What a pain. This one was heating up, but it was spitting out a heck of a lot of black metal when pressing up and down on the steam button. I was truly astonished. I googled Pacific Steam for a phone number to them directly, that is how I learned how to clean out the iron. This was a lengthly and time consuming process. Honestly, I should not have had to do that at all. Their China quality control is null and void. I was asked to take pictures of the iron, the set up, and the black metal particles/dots coming from the steam holes, thru the Felt pad I purchased additionally for the inside of the iron shoe. At the time I was glad that I had made my phone calls to Pacific Steam, and followed orders explicitly to thoroughly clean the inside of the iron, etc. It seemed to be ok now. And the heating was great in comparison to the first iron. This was about April 27 2016 and this was the 2nd or the Replacement. Here is how the Pacific Steam warranty works...from the time the order is placed starts the 60 day warranty. If the iron ...the first fails, and you receive a replacement, they will not back up the warranty to the original date of the order. So you are not getting a true 60 day warranty. This is Pacific Steam and how they set their warranty, not the companies that sell the product for them. Now this 2nd Iron has decided to not heat up the bottom plate. I can let this set for 1 minute on fabric not moving the iron, pick up the iron and immediately set my full hand flat on the spot and barely feel any heat...my setting is on 5 the highest it will go.Buyer beware of this Pacific Steam Product. I certainly cannot recommend the Iron or the Company, of course it is Made in China as well. These irons are just too expensive to buy and find they last only for a few months...Bad Product, Poor Quality Control or none at all, and no warranty to speak of. Buy at your own risk. I might as well put my money right down the disposal.
