Perfect solution to the arcing problem! Why don’t all IECs have switches?

I received a small device for stamps - unfortuantely there is no on/off switch - we were recommended to turn it off almost daily as there can be LCD burn issues, but without a power switch it was pull the plug or reach under the desk for the socket every time.This cable has completely solved the problem, while I may ahve wanted something a little shorter, 30cm is not too long especially as the cable I use it with is 1.2m - so no real increase I felt. we can now turn on and off very easily and I will consider this for other small electrical items that have no power switch (printer).

I use two of these now. For some reason professional audio gear sometimes have no power switch, it's a personal choice of certain designers. These solve that issue, and contrary to the OCD person who thought a switch would add noise, no extra noise, that is noticeable. Plug it in, and go!!. Saved me a lot of hassle now.

Unfortunately, I didn't see that other sellers are selling this for nearly half the price I paid.So this review will be based on the actual product, not the price.I purchased this for my ageing Philips CM8833 Mark2 CRT Monitor. These always have the power switch break over time, and mine wouldn't stay on. To replace it, requires a fair bit of work and soldering skills, which I lack, so I thought this adapter would work - and it does, very well.

Fantastic item good quality that meets the British standard at a good reasonable price.

Sturdy and great for what I needed it for. A good killswitch for a kettle lead. The only draw back for my use, would be that the lead is a little short.

After installation to a monitor (23 inch) the switched failed to switch off on the third try.
