This is why he's "Sensei" Sakamoto!
The fact that Sensei (Professor) Sakamoto is searching for a sound that reverberates forever is totally what I already knew, seeing as I've been appreciating his music for 40 odd years! He shows his love for everyone and the world, his love for music even more which leaves you tearful. Such a mind-blowing musician, artist, crossing all boundaries with electronic, synth pop, ambient, classical... I loved the references to Solaris (the 70s original) His collaborations with other musicians are not mentioned so much here, but there have been many. Sylvian, Alva Noto, Dolby, among many. For a Sakamoto follower, this is a must to understand the mind and the man behind the music.

Touching insight into he mind of a maaster of music
The joy Sakamoto experiences when he finds the right sound is a pleasure to behold, the challenges he faces such as cancer, weather extremes and continuing to be an activist say something of the quality of the man. A fine and revealing film into Sakamoto's history, work ethic and creative process.

A thought provoking insight into Ryuichi Sakamoto
Wow! Highly recommended, this really touched me in an inspiring way. I didn't realize this was such a deep and important piece of work. Sakamoto's life was so incredibly full and diverse, this shares only an intimate and insightful glimpse of his final years. Even with his cancer treatment and ongoing issues, he still makes it a priority to attent a rally and play an intimate performace for victems of Fukashima. There is a lot of insight into his personal life and inspirational artistry throughout this film. I find it thourougly inspiring that he remained passionate about music, recording sounds, film scores, and original artistic expression to the end. Rest in piece Sakamoto, it's so sad to loose such a legend like this.Highly recommended, this really touched me in a deep inspiring way.

Subtitles
This DVD does not have English subtitles despite product description saying it does. The seller claimed it was because of my region in the US but seller is in Europe and an Italian customer had the same issue per an Amazon review.

Extraordinary.
No one else does what Ryuichi does. One of a kind. Warm. Emotional. Little. Simple. Complicated. Sophisticated. It’s all in one. It’s life. It’s death. It’s async.
