There is an old saying that goes "Perfect is the enemy of Good Enough". And that is a great summation of this waffle makers performance. Is it perfect? Nope. Is it Good Enough? Yep. Even better than a baseline Good Enough. For a two-sided Belgian Waffle maker, it gets the job done at a VERY low price point. We like Belgian waffles with a nicely browned crust and this unit delivers perfect waffles for us in four and a half minutes. Lighter waffles even faster. The waffles are the perfect single serving size and having a pair come up each time makes things go very quickly. Highly recommended.

After nearly a decade of faithful use, my Villaware Uno Waffle Maker with interchangeable heart and Belgian waffle plates finally broke. It was a sad day for our household, but we had to move on and look for another waffle iron as Villaware no longer makes that particular iron. After some searching, we finally settled on the B&D Double Flip Waffle Maker. While I loved my Villaware, the B&D waffle iron is quickly filling that empty space in both my heart and stomach.The Double Flip Waffle Maker heats up quickly, is beautifully nonstick, and get this - it makes TWO waffles at ONE time! Now, instead of having to split a waffle for my kids to share while I heat up a second one for them to share again so they would have a full waffle to eat each, I can heat up two waffles, have them eat their breakfasts at the same time without having to break anything in half, and have enough time to make an actually waffle for both me and my husband. This waffle maker was a breakfast game changer for our family! While this iron lacks a temperature control that my old waffle iron had, I've discovered over the years that I actually left the temp at the same spot simply because once a perfect setting was discovered, I never needed to change it. This waffle iron is in perpetual "perfect setting" mode. The waffles I've made come out crisp on the outside, lightly browned, and familiarly delicious. Simply pour in the batter, close, flip, pour in more batter, flip again, and wait for the iron to stop steaming. For those who don't multitask, you will need to set a timer as this one doesn't have any timers or beepers to let you know your waffle is done. The one gripe I have is that this iron doesn't come with removable plates for easy cleaning, but because the plates are so non stick, the plates were easy enough to clean with a simple wipe down.Overall, I'm very pleased with this waffle iron. We've had it for a month now with frequent use - I'm looking forward to many more delicious waffle breakfasts to come!

Purchased as a gift for my husband. He LOVES the ability to cook two waffles at one time. It heats and cooks evenly, makes a great waffle, relatively easy to store, plate cleans right in the dishwasher. Great value for the cost.

I've used the Black+Decker Rotating Waffle Maker several times and come away with a few observations:Good:1. Inexpensive; it's really hard to beat the price.2. Well made (with the too-short cord issue listed below.)3. Easy to use, fast heating, fast cooking (four minute cook time; five minutes for a very crisp surface.)4. Relatively easy to clean with care. The non-stick plates work pretty well, but my waffles simply fall off if I give them a shot of Pam first.5. While not designed for the task, I cook a couple of disks of Canadian Bacon on each grid and they turn out fine.6. Produces true deep Belgian waffles using 3/4 cups of batter on each side of the flip plates, 1-1/2 cups total.7. Clunky, but a reasonable size. It fits in my cabinet.Bad:1. The cord is too darn short! The 24-inch cord makes it a real chore to situate the waffle maker on the counter. It badly needs another 12-24 inches.2. NO beep alert when plates are hot or waffles finish. It has two indicator lights, but they only indicate power and when the plates are up to temperature. I keep a timer going to avoid incinerating my breakfast, or I can hover and watch until the steaming stops.3. No temperature control.4. The first couple of cooking rounds go pretty fast, but I've found that it can take up to 20 minutes to cook a third round of waffles. A circuit seems to shut it down until it cools down enough to fire up again.The Black+Decker Rotating Waffle Maker is very good at the price, but it lacks some key features. Four stars.

I just got this yesterday. I followed the cooking directions that are in the manual. It heated up quickly. I used 3/4 cup of batter. I poured it in the middle of the plates and let gravity spread it around. I like my waffles brown but still soft. I cooked it for 4 minutes and it came out perfectly. I used the Hungry Jack pancake/waffle mix not a from scratch recipe.It's a compact machine so putting it away in my pantry will be easy. This is perfect for a single person or family.I know there are people that don't like reading the manual that come with machines but, I would suggest for safety sake that you read how to properly use ANY machine you buy, but especially any machines that have the potential of starting fires in your home. Once you know how to properly use the machine then you can play around with and get creative.So far I'm happy with it.I think it's a good buy for the price.Hopefully they improve on this one by making one with a cooking timer and removable plates that can be washed.

This lasted me years. I had to leave it behind when I moved! But I definitely loved my waffle maker. Super easy to use.
