Pumpkin Town! Or, Nothing Is Better and Worse Than Pumpkins Paperback – Picture Book, August 25, 2008

I love this silly story. It it well written and the illustrations are colorful and unique. I use it in my classroom each fall as we talk about plant lifecycles. It's a great way to tie in the seasonal fall fun with our science.The story is short and simple. Easy for littles to follow along, but interesting enough to hold the attention uf upper elementary students too.

I bought this book because my little boy has been obsessed with the word "pumpkin". He loves saying it so much, but there aren't many of them around outside of October month.The artwork is unique and amazing. My son especially likes the page with the trucks. I love the story (where's the mom though?). I personally found the words a bit difficult to flow and requires some getting used to. I have gotten used to it, since he makes me read it every night.He doesn't like to hear "let's go to bed", but likes to hear "let's go read the pumpkin town!".

This is one of our kids' (aged 2-5) favorite books, and we never tire of reading it to them. The story is fun, kid-centric, and features a positive work ethic; and the art really pushes it over the edge into greatness. It's also one of the few open-ended young children's books we've found, inviting parents to ask "do you think that *was* the end of it?" and "what do you think happens next?" and the kids follow the book's pattern or invent wild stories of their own. It's also just the right length for a bedtime story.

Every month I try to send a book to my granddaughter. She lives them and this one didn't disappoint.

We love this book! After repeatedly checking it out from the library every fall, I finally decided it needed to be part of our family collection. My now 4 1/2 year old absolutely loves it and even my 15 month old has started to sit through it! Perfect fall/harvest story (especially for schools or families who might not emphasize Halloween as the holiday is never mentioned) for young readers and read-alouds!

I ordered this for my 7 year old grandson. I read it to him and he enjoyed it very much, and wanted to take it home to read it again.

I can NOT recommend this book more! I love kids picture books and am always scouring bookshops for fun new finds for my kiddos. I bought this on the recommendation of a schoolteacher friend, and I wasn't disappointed. It has a fun, silly storyline that is just delightful! My kids can't seem to put it down.
