These knives are sharp and durable. They are far superior to the Ginsu set I purchased back in '09 (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006TJ7HM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). My tween son enjoys cooking and I felt it was important to get a better set of knives (dull knives are dangerous - sharp knives are far safer). This set was my answer. I first tried the orange utility knife and fell in love with how it slid easily through hard food items. I was sold and purchased this set. I don't know why it is multicolored. I don't really care about the colors, though it does seem to add to the comfort of their use on an emotional level, but the blades are fabulous. They feel nice in the hand and the handles are not slippery at all. They feel nicely balanced and not at all awkward to use. They just feel like a natural way to cut and are a fantastic value for the price.I noticed another reviewer gave this set a poor rating due to her child being attracted to the colorful knives. If you are a parent of children too young to train how to behave around knives, please be aware that these colorful blades are likely to be attractive to children. When my four kids were little, I kept my knives in a high cabinet that was locked. As they got older, I taught them the dangers of knives and how to behave around them properly. This is a natural part of growing up. Please be aware of this if you decide to purchase this set and take proper precautions to protect young children.

These are great knives. A friend had them so I knew what to expect but was blown away by how sharp they really are. We have super expensive knives that have gotten dull and was pleased I didn't have to pay a fortune to replace them. I love the colors too. My only complaint is the block. I wish it was more angled rather than straight. It is a good looking knife block though. I recommend these knives just be careful. I cut 3 fingers in my left hand in 2 days.

The knives are nice for the price. They weren’t quite as sharp as I like my knives when I purchased them, but it was easily fixed. The handle on one of the knives has started to crack from the inside, but it’s still holding together for now.

I love these knives, I purchased a set for myself and have given 3 as gifts. Love the look and feel, my only complaint is the length of time they remain sharp. For the price you pay I feel is acceptable, just throw away after some use and buy another set.

I love these knives! I've had the pearing knife for a few years and love how its kept its sharpness and overall quality. I've gone through sets of several other brands and never have good luck with wear and tear after about a year or so. But I figured these knives would be great since the pearing knife held up so well. They are very sharp and I like the variety offered for such a great price.

We originally liked this colorful knife set, but 7 months later the handles started breaking off. The knife tangs are just over 1" long and they appear to snap where the tang ends ( see photos). Knives have been treated well with no misuse or excessive pressure. Very dangerous when they break. The handles just don't come off - they snap off in a very unexpected and precarious location. I was a bit shocked to see another customer review and photo showing the same problem, same knife, and it broke in the same spot! A definite design problem that could make your dinner prep a little messy as well as make for a road trip to the ER. These were advertised with a 25 year warrantly, but we're having problems finding contact info to initiate a warranty claim.

I've been a chef for decades and these have become my FAVORITE knives. Super super sharp, and - more important - easy to sharpen to a razor edge. Fun colors. Happy knives that are well built and won't break the bank. I have Henckels but guess which knives I reach for? Theses. Every time. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful knife set. I couldn't think of single bad thing about these knives. They cut amazing. They are so beautiful and bright they almost look like a decorative piece in my kitchen. Cutting even the hardest vegetable Is a breeze with these impressive knives. I highly recommend these knives they seem much more expensive then they are.
