It became apparent as installation was attempted that something was missing. Another bracket kit was necessary to complete the installation.

The reason im leaving this review is because I rely heavily on them when I make a purchase so I know the importance. I bought 2 kuhl units. The ES12n33 is for my 650sqft basement. The SM15n10 to cool my entire 600 sqft second floor. Ive only had them installed for a couple weeks, so I cant comment on the long term use but so far im very satisfied. While you can install these in windows with a kit I chose to eliminate one of my basement windows and frame out the ES chassis , so it is essentially a through the wall install. When I installed the SM I cut a hole in the side of the house and framed that out also. I find that through the wall installs are FAR more efficient, quiet and you dont have to worry about losing a window or removing it every winter. The basement window I used was not in use anyway. Now onto the actual units....They cool very efficiently and quietly! My biggest concern was to find larger units that were quiet because the basement unit is installed right in my home theater area. While the units are certainly not silent they are FAR FAR FAR quieter than my LG unit installed on the 1st floor! When the compressor kicks on it does so very softly. You almost cant distinguish between the fan and ac modes. The ES model is slightly quieter than the SM but it is smaller so its to be expected. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars instead of 5 because the only thing that was somewhat disappointing is the wifi capabilities. Don't get me wrong it DOES work but its very clunky and slow. As newer versions are released im sure it will improve. If your thinking about purchasing a kuhl unit dont hesitate, not only do they work as described that look so modern! If I ever sell I might have to find something else to stuff in those holes where my kuhls once resided!!!

For as much as this Ac unit was, it's not as quiet as they claim. Also making a buzz internally and the company isn't really as concerned as I am. Super disappointed- hopefully it lasts.

I have (had) an ES12M33B. It lasted 4 years and then quit. Looking to replace it now.Had to wire the louvers in place since they kept moving.Expensive unit, too.
