How does one review a book that has so much information about subjects that should interest every American and that is virtually factual in every respect from A to Z.? The short articles by writers, philosophers, alternative researchers and journalist screams out at the reader---YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED! Contained within this book are a multitude of articles that will amaze and shock your cultural knowledge--- like Jim Marrs Graham Hancock, Cremo & Thompson to name but a few. For example, in 1964 in Vietnam there were confirmed reports that the North Regular Army of Vietnam use to go into a village and pick the most influential family of that village and tie them up in the center of the village with dynamite and blow them up because they would not go along with the doctrines of the North Vietnamese--true---"The Puppets of Pandemonium" by Howard Bloom. After military service, I returned to a calmer life style and college where I undertook a multitude of courses. One very influential course in my life was MASS COMMUNICATION by a professor that was very true to the journalist code of reporting the facts in a non- bias method called the five W's of journalism, (Who, What, When Why, Where and sometimes How). Sad but true today the Mass Media is a puppet to those corporations that control and seek to influence the very social fabric of our society for the benefit of those corporations or polities! Yes we are being lied to about a multitude of issues like the giant chemical company Monsanto that produced a host of substances that are destroying our world like " Agent Orange" did in Vietnam that has caused countless health damage to Vietnam Vets during the late sixties or early seventies or the new genetically modified seeds of today that are not capable of reproducing like natures plants have been doing forever---WHY? For total control of our food supply thus ensuring compliance of the masses with whatever nefarious agenda the "controllers" dictate..."Why did the Iragi Government Want Blackwater Banned" by Jim Marrs. My oldest son was in IRAQ during this era and bore witness to the Blackwater scandal as an observer but doesn't want to talk about it to this day. So very true and real cover up of the atrocious behavior of many of these mercenary combatants--not all mind-you---since its hard if not most difficult to judge people who were not there are from an arm chair prospective, in my opinion. But enough causality may have been inflicted on civilians to warrant a complete investigation. Death and destruction on innocent civilians was done and they never had to answer for their crimes! As a veteran this scares the hell out of me because what is to prevent this band of ex-special forces controlled by the former Navy SEAL, Erik Prince founder of Blackwater from coming to America and doing that here to civilians under the auspicious of a Presidential Order declaring ---"Martial law". Germans never thought they could be hoodwinked either by Adolph Hitler and millions died because he disarmed them before committing the extermination of the old and weak, the Jewish population and those that opposed him in general--does history repeat itself--it surely can and may!!!!!Another important article by Earl lee -SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS actually explains why our children have been mislead down the primrose path of deceit by not explaining or having discussions as to the "WHYS" of our history here in the states as well in the world!!! Bringing forth students who merely recite rote knowledge of dates and names and never getting into the "Whys" of such documents as the "MAGNA CARTE" or the Anti-Federalist and the opposition to the Constitution----this breeds sheep that can be controlled by the media and crooked politicians! Textbook publishers care nothing about creating "critical thinkers" --they care only about how many textbooks can be sold! The reviewers that often review these various textbooks many times look for the ones that would cause the lest bit of classroom discussions or critical thinking (lest resistance) to ensure political correctness-thus dumbing down our youth!!! I was privy to serve on a local textbook review board some years back but found that they actually never wanted me to voice my opinions. Consequently, the three texts this local review board was subject to review--I never received any of the text to review! In Texas, the real review board originates in Austin, Texas where a hoard of "do-gooders" called the Educational Research Analysis has made major inroads in censorship. "Too many textbooks and discussions leave students free to make up their minds about things"------is what this think tank expressed! Isn't this an amazing statement by people who are supposed to respect the Republic, its historical significance and laws and create "CRITICAL THINKERS for tomorrow's leaders? I must stop and pay homage and honor the very astute teachers/professors of my youth because back in the early sixties they taught -----CRITICAL THINKING---and imbued students with the desire to know the "WHYS" and to always seek the truth in all things written or oral---a valuable lesson many congressman should adhere to today but don't!!!John McCain and POWs Cover-up by Sydney H. Schantberg----All veterans should be very enraged when they read this well documented chapter on how John McCain and John Kerry (present Sectary of State) conspired decades later to cover up the fact that there were hundreds of military prisoners of war left over in Vietnam. Many HOSTAGES where withheld according to reliable sources like Kissinger.--among others. In his memoirs he expressed there were POWS/MIAS not accounted for in the 1973 Peace Treaty? It was signed in Paris but never ratified by the Senate----prisoners of war were held in Laos and Vietnam to guarantee that United States would pay WAR reparations which they never did. The implication here is far reaching and a very sad day for American families of MIA/ POWS as well as those still held captive. Betrayal and subterfuge from our politicians for our military servicemen past and present who loyally served white the congressmen lied to their families-----"cannon fodder" is the term that applies here--causalities of war? Recalling Dwight David Eisenhower speech before he left office--BEWARE of the Industrial/Military complex---old IKE tried to warn us back in 1961 as he left office but it was not heeded by the people.There are so many articles that have direct being on our quality of life ---I can not describe them all in this review---one will have to read it and decide for themselves if the articles ring true within their own empirical experiences and research them as to their veracity if they so desire---there is lots of footnotes for references! There are many outstanding articles that this encyclopedia of deceptive and treasonous acts purports that have been perpetuated on the American public past and present!If one could be called crazy or nuts for believing some of these so called "conspiracy articles" or alternative histories----- then I am crazy raving lunatic because "some" of these I have personally experienced! I don't accept all these articles as the gospel truth nor do I adhere to some of their facts but it does make one stop and ponder what is on the agenda for Americans?THE CONSTITUTION; WAR AND THE DRAFT by Dr. Ron Paul can best described as sane and eloquently expressed---a must read for those who still believe in the Constitution and presidential restraint or limited war powers!Read this book -it will be one of the best investments in your life and I PRAY it will spur you to political action to stop all the lies, DECEITFUL reporting and resulting negative consequences of the public health both physically, mentally and spiritual for our survival as a Republic. I am not a right-winger or bleeding heart liberal---some where in between perhaps --for I know what is real and MOST all these articles are the real deal--Par Excellent research and reporting! I ask myself WHY all this information never was followed up or acted upon within the mainstream mass media before now----the answer is simple--control of the media by the multi-national corporations--it is greed of these corporations who do not answer to the public or government--WE THE PEOPLE!Yesterday, June 19th, 2013 there was an article on the web that exposed the COVER-UP of TWA Flight 800------business as usual folks----more disinformation. lies and deceit for the masses!

The book is a collection of about 50 chapters, each written by a different author, the thing that they have in common, is they nearly all seem to be conspiracy buffs. Some of the chapters are quite believable, containing things that I agree with, but after seeing them in the book, I will have to go back and fact check them. A number of the chapters put forward some of the common conspiracy theories that are found in great plenitude on the internet today. The evidence presented is compelling, and the argument is often very logical, but a few minutes searching on the web checking reliable websites, not the conspiracy ones, reveals that the authors have omitted key facts, altered details and reported made up stories as fact. In short, every conspiracy theory that I fact checked, came apart so fast doing an internet search, that I should have been using a stop watch and holding a "conspiracy rodeo" to see which one would hold up the longest. Even with a slow dial-up connection, most of the conspiracy theories hit the dust in minutes. I was totally shocked at how poor the research was, didn't any of these guys know how to use the internet?, and that was when the revelation hit me, most of the articles were written before the internet became the information source it is today.Nearly every chapter is written by someone selling his theory which often includes you buying his newest book. What I learned from this book, is each conspiracy author is like a con man selling you something, and he will often lie to make the sale. All of those conspiracy theories running around out there are someone's business idea, their little intellectual money making machines. They craft the pieces so that they fit together, wind them up and set them free to follow their programmed course out in the world and send back money to their creator. Every conspiracy contains a piece that could be titled "conspirators' motivation module" which attempts to explain why some large group of people are all motivated to work together with the precision of Swiss watch in some convoluted plan that often appears to be against their best interests, and it occurred to me that it would be far easier and far more believable to explain the motivation of the author in making the whole thing up ($).Some of the conspiracy authors are probably very sincere and honestly believe in their theory, and maybe they are right or just plain nuts. I didn't have time to fact check them all, so there could even be a diamond or so mixed in among all the nonsense. In fact, I did find a number of the chapters very insightful, but they are buried underneath the nonsense in the other chapters, stuff like this;"Researchers claim that they can't figure out what causes breast cancer" p. 99"There have been ongoing arguments over who was behind the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy, and Robert Kennedy, as well as the truth of what really happened in Waco and Oklahoma City and many more recent events." p.201"The evidence I've put together in my book indicates that parents have little or no long-term effect on their children's personality, intelligence, or mental health." p.215"Compulsory schooling is a tyranny. . . . "a worldwide soul-shredder that junks the majority and burdens an elite to govern it."" p.252"Perhaps we will even end up looking back on the persecution of drug users with the same sense of shame and horror that we now view the persecution of gays and lesbians," p.320"This internalized industrial fascism, this proscription, causes drug problems, in the same way that violent sexual Puritanism causes sexual problems." p. 338"The temperate, tolerant Western European republics are handing themselves over to what has proved the leading progenitor of war, slavery, and civilization disaster of the past fourteen centuries: Islam." p 340"The data show conclusively that "HIV" is not sexually transmitted," p. 380"error of walking into Augusta's NutraSweet plant "Without a `space suit'" . . . dropped dead." p.383"archaeologists have found abundant evidence showing that human beings like ourselves have existed for hundreds of millions of years." p.388"The Earth is expanding and we don`t know why" p. 395"Ten Strikes Against the Big Bang" p. 398Maybe some of the above is actually true, or maybe it is all nonsense. Perhaps that is the appeal of a book like this, it shows the importance of not believing everything you hear, which is what the book is all about.The book does have a great chapter debunking "The Bible Code" which is shown to just be a math trick and one debunking the 2012 Maya end of the world prophecy. So the book does have a number of powerfully good chapters, you just have to get past the bad ones and know how to tell the difference, which is harder than you think, I am still undecided on a few of them and will have to do some more online fact checking.

excellent book - so many interesting articles in one book. Worth reading and fun. a wake up call in many ways.This is my favorite part:Columbus spoke of the native Americans with what seemed like admiring awe: “They are the best people in the world and above all the gentlest without knowledge of what is evil – nor do they murder or steal…they love their neighbors as themselves and they have the sweetest talk in the world…always laughing.” And in a letter he wrote to one of his Spanish patrons, Columbus said: “They are very simple and honest and exceedingly liberal with what they have, none of them refusing anything he may possess when he is asked for it. They exhibit great love toward all others in preference to themselves. “But then, in the midst of all this , in his journal, Columbus writes: “They would make fine servants. With 50 men, we could subjugate them and make them do whatever we want.” This is how Columbus saw the Indians – not as hospitable hosts, but as “servants” to “do whatever we want”.

READ THIS BOOK! You won't believe the amount of cover-ups laid bare within these pages. Especially worth the price of admission are the following articles: Howard Zinn on the truth about Christopher Columbus; an exposé of the dangers of NutraSweet by Alex Constantine; & John MCain's sinful coverup of MIA's in Vietnam by Sidney Schanberg. The truth is in here! This is one of THE BEST investigative books I've ever read. Keep 'em coming, Russ Kick!

You Are Being Lied To is a huge collection of articles that set out to destroy the distortions, myths, and lies that are fed to us by government, media, corporations, history books, organized religion, science and medicine, and society in general. No one is spared, there are so many candidates for the chop.An interesting read, but most of the information has been around for several years now, so anyone buying it today may find it to be dated. Just as well for me because it is a huge, heavy tome and difficult to hold and read!
