Damn!
Okay, so I decided to do my own clutch replacement on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara because my release bearing had bit the dust, and most of the repair shops promised an inexpensive repair but could or would not promise a part that I could verify as quality. All the Jeep forums lauded LuK as the "original equipment clutch" so I decided to get the heavy duty version because hey...if I am in there...why not beef things up?Well, the kit that arrived seemed pretty nice. It had all the parts I needed, although I decided to purchase the [Crown Automotive 4338855 Clutch Throwout Fork Spring (always a good idea)] and [Genuine Chrysler 52087542 Clutch Release Lever Pivot (mine ended up being a candidate for replacement)] and [LuK LFW193 Flywheel (existing flywheel is not approved for honing)] and [Pioneer CF-146 Clutch Fork (mine was damaged from the broken release bearing)] and [ARP (146-2801) Flywheel Bolt Kit (flywheel bolts MUST be replaced if removed)] and [ARP 1302201 High Performance Pressure Plate Bolt Kit (hell, I was replacing everything else, so what's one more thing?)] and the transmission fluid [RoyalPurple Synchromax (because that's just good policy)].So the first thing I noticed, like others in their reviews, is that a good portion of the release bearing in the kit is plastic, although the bearing itself doesn't feel too bad. But after reading the poor reviews on that bearing, I purchased an all-metal one from my local parts store, a National, for less than here on Amazon. (It felt a little looser bearing-wise, but so many people complained about the plastic that I would feel a fool to not heed their advice.)That being said, the rest of the kit is nice. The pilot bearing, once removed using a rented puller from my auto parts place (why bother with a hammer and grease for removal when the rentals are free?), was easily installed. [Important note...pay attention to the location of the rubber o-ring seal on the pilot bearing...it goes on the side facing the transmission.] The great thing about the alignment tool in the kit is that you can pop off the ring on the end, use the tool to tap in the pilot bearing, then put the ring back on.The clutch is much wider than the original (which, in my case, was a Sachs...not a LuK...but I digress) and the pressure plate is wider as well. This provides a greater friction surface and of course fulfills the "heavy duty" promise. And everything fit perfectly. The installation was cake (well, except for the whole removing-the-transmission thing...)As for performance...once installed and driving, the clutch needed zero break-in time. It was smooth from the start. The chatter I had experienced for the last few years on a cold motor was gone. The clutch was a bit firmer, but I expected that. This clutch feels better than the original ever felt. I mean, a LOT better. Maybe I got used to the feel of a failing clutch, but I always seemed to have some chatter on a cold motor but no more.I'm not sure if it's the clutch, the Synchromax, or both, but the shifting is so much smoother now...smoother than it ever has been! I give this five stars because it drives better than when my Jeep was new, and installation was a breeze. I can't knock it a star for the plastic release bearing because I cannot definitively say whether it's truly a cheap problem or whether we all are spooked by plastic. At any rate, this has been a great clutch so far, better than the original IMO, so I give this five stars! (now those two bolts on the top of the transmission that are Torx E10 but get stuck...I wanna kill Chrysler for that choice...but that's another story for another day...)

Good clutch for the money. No reason to buy the stock one with this one available!
Seems to be holding up well so far. Feels about the same as the stock clutch as far as pedal effort goes. But the engagement is smoother and more predictable.Time will tell how well it holds up. My stock one had 138k on it and still worked. But was getting tired and I had the motor out so I figured it was a good idea to just replace it.I did not use the provided throwout bearing like many other. I read it's not very good so I got one from the parts store that's all steel. Well it makes noise and is going to need to come out soon. :( Maybe I got a bad one? Not sure. But I have a clear rattle sound when out of gear and off the clutch. It's gone if you step on the clutch, and I don't hear it if you're moving in gear either.

Great product except throw out bearing.
I've used LUK clutch gold twice, it really is nice. I ran my first LUK for 2 years. I had to take the transmission down due to a bolt coming loose within my bellhousing and breaking the bellhousing. Nothing to do with the clutch however the bolt got spun in my flywheel and damaged the pressure plate. It almost no wear on it after that long. So I bought a new one regardless, if im down there why not freshen it up. easy to install, comes with the pilot bearing and the alignment tool. Now I highly recommend changing the throwout bearing. It has a plastic sleeve and Im told doesn't last long. This must have been something LUK changed recently because 2 years ago, I got a steel one. 24 bucks at a Auto Part. For this reason it gets 4.

good clutch
good clutch and it feels so much better than the old one. not sure why people are having problems with the throw out bearing. ive had this clutch installed for over 6 months and i havent had any issues with it. my jeep is a daily driver, i dont drive that far, but i have about 3 thousand miles on the new clutch and flywheel. i have 33" mud tires and i can break the wheels loose in 1st, 2nd, and chirp in 3rd. no slippage what so ever.

Better than stock
A well-built kit. Followed the advice of others and bought an upgraded throw-out bearing separately. No problems so far with only three weeks of daily driving on it. Operates smoothly too.

After 1000 miles its smooth as butter and has a great pedal feel
Working very well in my 97 cherokee 4.0. After 1000 miles its smooth as butter and has a great pedal feel. I replaced the flywheel at the same time so ymmv. So far I couldnt ask for moreUpdate 9/30/24Still running and driving great. Wouldn't hesitate to use this again. I put maybe 5k miles a year on my jeep so take that into consideration as well.

Outstanding customer service
After 7 months my throwout bearing was squealing. Got hold of LuK (thank you Twitter) and received a phone call from an engineer, in about a day and a half. Based on the information I gave him he assured me it was the bearing riding on the teeth of the pressure plate (ANY clutch pressure and the noise went away) and he's confident as everything settles, the bearing will get settle in with the proper pre-load and the noise will stop. Very impressed with the excellent customer service

Not really happy with this - See pictures
I installed this on 2/28/2021 - completely failed on 5/31/2022. Less than 2500 miles on the clutch. The jeep only sees dirt, hence the low miles, and the use is on the rocks. However, I have a hand throttle and it's geared very low so the clutch isn't used often during climbing. I am very disappointed in this results. Please see the pictures.
