ADATA Ultimate SU650 3D NAND 480GB Solid State Drive - Black

My wife uses a Lenovo G50-45 laptop with AMD processor and upgraded 8GB RAM. She was struggling a lot with basic blogging, web design and image editing work in Photoshop. Was almost about to order in a new laptop for her. Then thought let's try giving the laptop an SSD upgrade. Since the laptop doesn't have a PCIe port or additional HDD SATA port the only option was to use a CD ROM caddie and install an SSD in it by replacing the DVD ROM.Ordered this SATA SSD and voila, the windows bootup has reduced from 2-3 min average to a lighting fast 15 seconds. Opening the apps takes barely a few seconds and now my wife can do all her work with great comfort. Hell, she's even able to multi task without a challenge. The issue that windows 10 always runs HDD at 100% in task manager has now vanished. The HDD barely reaches 20% of activity in Task Manager.Since I didn't have a second SATA HDD port in the laptop, I ordered a 9.5mm CD ROM caddie from Amazon and did a self replacement of the DVD ROM with the SSD and Caddie. It took barely 15 min and everything worked like a charm.Please note, you need to be sure of the size of the caddie, either 9.5mm or 12mm. You can go-to device manager and dvd-rom properties to get the model number of the DVD ROM and search online for it's specs.The laptop had a 500GB HDD with 300 GB OS partition. I used Macrium Reflect software to configure and clone my OS onto the SSD. It took about 2 hours for the cloning of OS. Had to reconfigure the Windows Boot Loader and that's it.It's been a month now, and the SSD is working great. My wife hasn't complained once about the speed or downtime. Would definitely recommend this as a must upgrade in your laptop, especially if you're facing performance issues or considering buying a new laptop just due to performance factors. It's absolutely value for money for a 500GB SSD. Performance wise I haven't noticed any difference between this and the other expensive brands.Keep in mind this is a SATA type SSD and not a PCIe type. So the speeds are limited based on SATA standards. Nevertheless, you won't notice the difference if you're not running high graphics rendering or design softwares. My first SSD. Works like a charm. Speed is through the roof compared to HDDs.Random I/O could have been greater.If the product holds true to the specified TBW, then it's awesome.

This SSD is budget friendly. In short I can say value for money. I have samsung 970 m.2 nvme SSD in my office pc. This one ADATA I had purchased for my home pc. It works well. I got this in 5k with Sbi credit card. So overall it is nice deal.

It was not working with my hp 845

This is great so far. Very low power consumption, full SATA speeds. Using it for a while now and so far so good. Haven't done an endurance test so far, otherwise good thus far.

Works but not that fast as expected.

fácil instalação, mas isso é devido ao meu computador que tem um acesso facilitado para por memoria, não precisa abrir o computador todo. depois de plugar, eu fui no youtube para saber como disponibilizar a memória, foi fácil, sou leigo e consegui, acredito que todos consigam tbm.

I've been looking to try an SSD in an aging laptop for a while although i've been reluctant given the pricing whenever I have looked previously for > 250GB drives. This SSD seemed to be great value so gave it ago, installed it without any difficulties and is working great (early days), laptop feels more responsive with boot up times into Windows 10 noticeably improved.It doesn't have the look or feel of a premium product, packaging is adequate and the drive itself is best described as hollow feeling plastic, don't let this put you off - it comes across as a good value product.I wanted to clone my boot HDD to the SSD and ADATA will supply a key for Acronis software to do this for you upon product registration. There seems to be various negative reviews for this software and recommendations for other products - I tried one other first and couldn't get far before the software gave an error, so went on the ADATA website, registered my product and downloaded the Acronis software - it worked absolutely fine and was good to go.

I've been using this device on a host server that runs a bunch of VMs. So far the SSD has been keeping up with great RW speeds and without any issue. Recommended.
