Easy clean-up, vivid colors, no harsh smells!
Easy to work with, easy to clean-up, great results with the bare wood projects I'm doing. For arts and crafts projects that require color but paint won't get you the desired look (due to the pigment) this is the answer, plus they dry close-to-transparent (against a black background) but still add the great color to the raw substrate. Highly recommend trying them out. I have used the Tant-Teal, PkrUp-Yellow, Blue Bayou, and Purple Rain with great results. I started with the 2oz bottles (for testing) and now buy the 8oz (great deal). Thanks to all at FolkArt! DC

More like Fluorescent Pink
I was looking for a bold red-red to complete a project. The color I purchased (infra red, not the crimson-red option) turned out bright pink. The "finished" project looked more like the result of a child scribbling back and forth over the surface using one of those fluorescent pink-toned highlighters, which brings me to my second point--application.Even though the surface of my project was unfinished to begin with and suited specifications per the included instructions, the makeup of the dye was such a pain that it wouldn't level regardless of which instrument I used. Tried brush, foam brush, and roller with no success.I waited for first coat to dry to see if the pink color could be subdued with a second coat. Nope.I love Folkart products, so was surprised when the quality did not match my expectations. You're better off mixing paint with some water to create a semitranslucent liquid dye in which the color is more loyal to the name/preview. If you're looking for a true red color that distributes nice and evenly, save your money (and your projects; it's too late for mine), by skipping over this primary-school-highlighter in a bottle.I will continue buying tried-and-true Folkart staples in the future, but this one is a dud.

Great Wood Dye
This stuff is great. If you want a wood dye that doesn’t raise the grain and is very easy to apply this is for you. The color is rich and it only takes a few layers to get great even color.

Cool results
This worked very well to highlight wood grain, great price and made a significant difference.

Good.
I used this to color some wooden beads. Worked great. I also used this to "touch up" a whimsical plaster of paris mushroom. Worked good.

The red dye will come out red with a couple coats.
I was skeptical of ordering the red dye because I was afraid it was going to come out pink. As you can see by the picture the color came out great!! If you want a more intense red all you needed is another coat. Would definitely recommend these dyes for wood!

product was good, packaging less so
Despite a plastic bag and bubble wrap, there was quite a bit of leakage. I think the issue is more with the manufacture packaging than the shipper. The internal seal doesn't hold well, so be careful opening it. The dye works like their other products with deep, rich colors and good penetration on wood.
