Great tool NO i7-9800X!
I gave it 5 stars as it is a great tool that is very well made. I bought it to delid an i7-9800x, which I came to find out is a soldered chip. This means that that lid is actually soldered to the chip. I did manage to delid the cpu without destroying it, i was very lucky. However, after putting it back to together with Kryonaut, the temps are now UP, yes, higher and more unstable. I dont think any thermal paste can bridge the gap that the solder did, at least well enough to lower the temps.

Works good as long as you get a good unit.
I must have gotten an unlucky unit as the arm that is pushed on by the screw would dig into the metal and would get stuck, at first I was thinking I must have the hardest stuck on IHS in history as I would crank on the screw as hard as I could and it simply wouldn't move, after taking it apart I saw that the red coating was worn off and there was a very small lip that it was catching on. I was able to remedy the situation by placing a piece of paper under the arm so it wouldn't get stuck on that edge and lifting up on the arm when tightening and after all that I was able to get the IHS off easily, didn't have any damage to the CPU and was overall happy with how it worked after the fix. Disappointing considering the high price they charge for this to have something so small cause such a headache.

Delidded, and direct die mounted a 7820X that was already delidded by Silicon Lottery.
It did make me nervous, but I took my time with it and my cpu is running just fine - as well as a higher overclock, thanks to the direct die mount.

Amazing!!!
Worked amazing did what it was suppose to do little nerve racking at first but worked for my 7940x applied liquid metal dropped 10c on hottest core and 21c on coolest

It works
I used this on my i9-7900x. It successfully de-lidded and there was no damage to the chip.
