Not super good for playdough
I liked this initially because I thought it was a good bargain for my toddlers to use with their playdough. When they arrived, I was pleased with them. They look good and feel reasonably well made for the price, etc. However, after a week of owning them, I realized that the wood is not finished and has a bit of a rough feel. One would think - who cares? I can live with that, BUT, what this means is that the playdough doesn't really come right off. It sort of sticks, and even at the end of play when you try to take the playdough off, it is hard to get it all off. Which then means you have a little bit of old, hard playdough on the rolling pin for the next time - which means that eventually, after the 2nd - 4th time of use, the rolling pins are crusty and it gets hard to roll the playdough flat. I suppose I will probably get around this by washing them in warm water from time to time, but for me that is more high-maintenance than I would like. All the other rolling pins we have (Melissa & Doug, etc) are finished and we don't have this problem.Good luck to you in your kids rolling pin search!

Cute toys, not really for baking
Smaller than expected and more for play than for actual baking. Handles are attached with wood glue that became soft when washed. They are a good size for three/four year old hands. Would be small for older kids. We are using them for a cookie rolling birthday party. They are perfect for the kids to use and take home, but I doubt they'll last more than six months. Great price tho! Note: I was going to have to kids roll out 6-8 inch pizzas. These pins are too small to do that easily. Much better for rolling smaller diameter items (2-4 inch cookie).

Doesn't hold up well.
I bought these for my 6-year-old's birthday for the kids to roll out pizza dough. Two of them busted right out of the gate. The wooden pin that holds them together is not very strong. They are really cute and fun, but they need to be made better. Kudos to the company because I emailed them and they immediately sent me replacements. Not the best quality, but they do the job if you are having a party. Probably wouldn't hold up to PlayDo though. I still have one that is similar to this from when I was a kid and mine is still going strong. But unlike this one, it was made with a metal rod through the rolling part. This one is flimsy wood.

cute, but tiny
I bought these for a pizza party for my 9 year old. When I got them, I had to laugh because they were so small. They worked well enough for a one time use. They didn't seem very sturdy and I was worried that the kids would break them (they didn't). However, they were very cute and the price was good. I would say these are more for decoration or pretend play for toddlers, not for actual dough rolling. The rolling pin is actually about 4 inches long and the handles are 2 inches per side. It is held together by a thin 0.25 inch dowel. It might be ok for 3-5 year olds, but definitely too small for 8-9 year olds.

Cookie exchange markers
I used these for decoration and NOT for cooking with kids. IF you want these for kids this is NOT for you. They are cheaply made, they do not roll correctly. I bought these for a Christmas Cookie Exchange and painted the roller part with chalk board paint so that when my guests brought their cookies in we could use these to identify them. They were super cute and got lots of comments. But again would NOT buy them for kids to try to use. They would be frustrating.

Play-Doh Only
Great for play-doh for kids. They are great for the price. I used one for making pastries and was not satisfied, it was not the best tool for the job. If you are looking to do a play-doh Party buy these for the kids!

Toy, no functionality whatsoever.
These are so much smaller than I thought. They are very skinny and would only work to roll over a piece of dough or clay the size of a golf ball. Anything bigger, like tennis ball size, would not work. The handles are so small, my 5 year olds can't even fully wrap their hands around. They were holding them with their fingertips.

The Play-Doh stuck really bad to them
I bought these to use with Play-Doh for a preschool station at VBS. They are not very study, just a dowel with a hole down the middle with rods stuck in. The Play-Doh stuck really bad to them. We only used them for one group and then resorted to just our hands.

Not free rolling handles.
These rolling pins are the right size for little hands but disappointed that the red handles dont turn. They are glued on instead of free rolling.

Not what I expected
I bought these to be a rolling pin for my daughter for playing with playdo but they were not what I was expecting. The rolling pins, especially the handles were much shorter than I anticipated based on the picture. They donโt actually roll and the handles look like theyโre just attached with glue. They seem pretty cheap.
