Still the Same... Great Rock Classics of Our Time

'Amazon recommends' often comes up with weird suggestions like bags of dried dog food - I don't own a dog and have never bought anything remotely connected with dogs. However sometimes they get it just right as with this album. What more can you want? Classic rock songs brilliantly performed. I especially love 'Father and Son', 'Have you seen the Rain' and 'Everything I Own' but there isn't a weak track on it.

Rods take on a number of rock classics, in his own unique way. Another fab example of his style.

It does seem a bit like Rod was nudging into Jane McDonald's territory of going through the motions of making unremarkable musical copies with this album, only this is thankfully a tad better than that. After ripping the C.D to an Mp3 format on my computer I decided to delete track 3: 'I'll Stand By You', and track12: 'Everything I own' because I didn't like the originals, let alone Rod doing his version of them. The rest are fine, especially 'Crazy Love' and 'Lay Down Sally' which were originally successful recordings for Van Morrison and Eric Clapton respectively way back when. I will rename the album 'Rod Doing Other Peoples Stuff' though, because the combination of the words 'Rock' and 'Classics' don't sit right with me in regard to this offering - he created his very own rock classics himself in his earlier days after all.Eamonn

As a Rod Stewart fan this is a album I had missed before .it is very good and glad I bought it.

A great collection of covers, sung by that unique voice of Rod Stewart.I'd quite happily hear him sing the phone book, but if you like Rod Stewart you'll love hearing him sing in his slightly younger voice here..

I bought this CD many years ago and bought it, again, for a friend this Christmas. I have played it many times, over the years, and thoroughly enjoy it.

I bought it as a birthday present. The recipient had heard it whilst on a coach trip but didn't know what it was called . I checked with Amazon & found it very easily. one happy person

Real good songs you never knew Rod covered. Fooled Around and Fell in Love is one of my favourites on the album, as is Still The Same. It's A Heartache (the old Bonnie Tyler song) is fantastic. Rod has an even better gravelly voice than Bonnie for this remake. I just love the whole album, and I'm not really a Rod Stewart fan.
