Fantastic for helping my toddler understand he was getting a sibling and has gentle tips on each page and talk points to help ease him into being a big brother. It really worked for us to prepare him for the baby’s arrival and he still enjoys reading it now

I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old daughter a couple of months before the birth of my second child. She already knew that Mum was having a baby but as I had never spent the night away from her before I wanted her to understand what was going to happen once the baby was due. She already had and loved the potty training book from this series, so I knew she found the flaps/push and pull elements engaging. I often find that these kinds of educational children's books don't tend to keep her interest. So the interactive parts used in this series are very helpful in keeping her attention on what might be an otherwise 'boring' book. Each page also has tips for parents on how to introduce the impending arrival of a sibling to a young child. Most of the tips are quite obvious but still a nice idea. We read this book a couple of times a week up to the birth of her little brother and when the time came she was very well prepared for what would happen. My baby is now 5 months old and my daughter still sometimes chooses to read this book, and talks about the things that happened when her brother was born- Remembering that Granny and Grandad looked after her etc. Overall, a good tool in explaining the process of a new siblings arrival to a toddler in a fun and engaging way. Great for sparking a conversation with your child. Nothing can truly prepare a toddler for what changes a new baby will bring to the family dynamic but this is a good way to start!

Was fantastic for preparing my child for her baby brother.

This book is full of interactive pictures but possibly too young for my 4 year old. Wasn’t very informative but it would have been good as an introduction to what’s happening but she’s already aware, just wanted the book to help her understand the time frame since she thinks it’ll be here next week.

The best book we bought to help our 2 year old process my pregnancy and arrival of baby sister. Fun pictures, engaging lift-the-flap pieces and great tips for parents at the bottom of each page. Love this book!

This book really helped in the run up to giving birth with my second. We read it every so often and it opened conversations with my 3 year old. When it came to it, they knew exactly what was going on and what to expect.
