Bought this to prepare my toddler for his jabs. It’s a fab book that did the job and I’d recommend it

We have several of the books in this range and used this one specifically to help prepare our 3 year old for his vaccinations. It was very successful, he loves books with flaps and was able to associate things in his visit with things in the book.

i got this for my 3 year old to her prepared for her injections next week i knew i could see she had build some confidence at the end of this story book :) very happy.

So good to go through the process together so she remembers when we go to the doctor. The flaps also help keep focus.

I didn't like that the child in the book goes to the doctor and not only has to strip off but is also there for a jab. I thought these books were supposed to make particular experiences familiar - having my child think that everytime he goes to the doctor he's getting a jab is not going to make my life easier. Why couldn't the story have had the doctor check the child's ears and throat - things that wriggling little children don't like to sit still for.I donated this book rather than give it to my child.

This book really helped our youngest before a doctors trip. She was nervous leading up to it so we bought this to help her. It made it sounds exciting and we built on this. Now when she needs to go to the doctors she's not bothered at all. Would highly recommend it

Started looking at this book with my son after he freaked out at the 15-month check-up appointment. He still freaked during the 18-month appointment, but differently. He also seemed to use the book to process what happened during the last appointment because he wanted to read it more than once a day for a handful of days after. I would recommend it, along with a toy doctor kit so your little one can actually touch some of the objects depicted (stethoscope, etc.). Also, I never actually read the “story” printed in the book. Instead, I use the pictures to talk about what is happening on each page.

Y a hacer referencia al cuento cuando estábamos en el mismo para que estuviera màs relajada, sabiendo què pasara después.Tendréis que adaptarlo a vuestra situación porque salen 2 personales a una niña que està resfriada y al niño que le poner inyección.Al tener despegables es muy interactivo.

Great to see diversity in children's books and in the position of the doctor. Great storyline.

Bought this to prepare my 3yo for the upcoming check-up and am utterly disappointed. The story takes two kids to the doctor's, one for a check-up along with an injection, one for a cold. The storyline is very simplified and scattered, it confused more than it helped. The check-up is not explained at all, the chile is measured and gets his injection - why, how etc. is not explored at all. The other child is simply prescribed medicine. It just doesn't make any sense and definitely doesn't help prepare a child for a doctor's visit. Two stars still because the illustrations are nice and I like the depicted diversity, e.g. the doctor is a black woman. Other than that, would not recommend the book.
