PerTronix Distb.
This is an item that I had been planning on purchasing for some time after reviewing my options from other companies. I knew exactly what I was getting. It was delivered to me quicker than I expected and was pleased at the delivery time. However, it was sent in the product box only with no addtional packaging or protection. Luckily the UPS did not damage it.

I would not recommend
I have a Pertronix flame thrower billet distributor with a igniter II electronic module and Pertronix coil. When I installed it I was told by a friend - buy an extra module in the event you have a failure. I did. after approx. 3000 miles and 2-3/4 years the 57 engine died. I checked fuel was good. Waiting for a tow for about 30 minutes and decided to try and start. Started right up and took it home. 8 miles. Went through the fuel system and purchased a Quick fuel carb and new Edelbrock manifold. Had some concerns about fuel system performance. The 57 was much easier start up and performance increase. Every thing good I took it for a drive. About 5 miles dead. Waited for 30 min and restarted. Almost made it home and died - walking distance. Replaced the coil (per Pertronix) wouldn't start. Had it towed. Started up the next day drove about 2 miles and died. Had it towed to my garage. Called Pertronix - was told I needed to do diagnostics on my 57. I told them it was a frame off restoration, new wiring harness, battery, etc. They said we have heard that before but we need you to do these vehicle tests. Next day I did all of the tests. All of them passed so I decided to replace the igniter II module with my spare. It started right up. drove 50 miles no problem. My concern is why can't Pertronix provide diagnostics for their components? Why should it be necessary to troubleshoot the entire vehicle to prove there is a problem with their product. I am going to go to a different manufacturer - MSD or DUI I presume. 3000 miles and 2-3/4 years just out of warranty
