Could sound better

My factory 10” 8ohm subwoofer blew, so replaced it with this MB Quartz 4ohm DVC to the Factory Mark Levinson, so it would read 8ohms still. A couple months and the voice coils blew. Also in this subs defense I cut the factory basket and free mounted this sub. Returned it for another one and this time installed an aftermarket amp, which the same thing occurred, however this time it sounded amazing until it blew. Going to go with a sub designed to be free flowing and hopefully will have better results. Either way though I expected more.

Very High-quality subwoofer, the basket, magnet, cone, rubber surround, dual voice coils, and incredible power handling. All Subwoofers are dependent upon cabinet design. Too small, too large, sealed or vented. This Subwoofer is as good as any I have owned. MB makes a high-quality product recommended for a sealed enclosure but I put it in 1.25 cubic ft ported enclosure made with 3/4" MDF with a 3" x 9" port made of schedule 40 PVC pipe with internal braces and cleats. No resonance or cabinet vibration, just clean gut-wrenching, earth-shaking Bass from this sub. Highly recommended. All Subs are dependent on cabinet quality. Use lots of glue and screws and braces and cleats.

I saw a lot of reviews complaining about this speaker. I got one 10 ran off a mbquart monoblock 1000watt and it sounds great. Of course I wasn't expecting competition quality from a 60 dollar speaker either.

Just average, kind of poppy bass not the low rumble I was looking for.

These woofers looked great, and sounded "Ok". Granted, in my application they were in a sealed box, but I never could get real good volume before they would distort. Everything being equal, I changed the woofers out to another brand and everything sounded as expected. Id give these a pass, unless you have a specific use case.

Great sound In my truck

There are quite a few value subs in this price range that show a lot more depth than this MB. Zero punch, very little movement - just not a very well designed speaker for the box sizes and wattage it's supposedly engineered for. Hard Pass.
