Handles the most challenging surfaces with long-lasting results
The cedar siding on my house needed repainting almost yearly because of peeling and cracking. Cedar is an oily wood, and primers don't hold up well. Since using Mad Dog over 10 years ago, there has been no peeling or cracking. This year I have two small areas that will need touch-up, so I am glad to see this is still available. You won't be disappointed!

So far so good.
I'm using this primer for our cedar shingle house. It seems like a very good product but it does dry clear as stated so I'm having to mark where I left off with a Sharpie. I can tell where I am if I'm applying over existing paint but not the bare cedar shingles.

It is worth the effort to prime with this primer
It goes on thick, dries a clear green so you can see you painted and it keep rust from bleeding through you paint.

Does no work high humidity
I live on the Gulf coast and thought this would be the perfect solution to cover rusty nails, but it didn’t work for me. The instructions on the can are impossibly small to read, but it does say that if the moisture content is too high the product will fail. I reached out to the company a few days ago to ask what the air humidity needs to be for the product to work properly, but it has been3-4 days and no response to my voice mail. I might have given more stars if they had been responsive and answered my questions. Poor customer service is in some ways worse than poor product.

Best primer ever to stop outdoor peeling paint!
Totally worth the cost. I goes on easily, with a slight green tinge, and dries in a couple of hours with the feel of a rubber coat. Finish paint goes on smoothly and the finished job really feels like it's going to last a long time without peeling.See my before and after pics!
