D7824706Q for Kenmore Sears Refrigerator Ice Maker Replacement Kit (1-Pack)

I was very disappointed with this ice maker initially as the attachment screws are hidden and as a big man I could not get a line of sight or reach in to "feel" remove the old maker and install this new one. Fuming I let the project set for a few days, thinking of adhering a mirror so I could reach in and see. I came home from work one day my wife and daughter were nearing completion of installing the ice maker themselves, my daughter could easily fit in the space and had no problem following the directions and within 20 minute removed the old and installed the new and it works fantastically. within 2 days the ice bin was full and it hasn't been empty since and as a family we use allot of ice. Great replacement product, my highest recommendation and as of this writing still flawless delivering cold chunky ice and keeps the bin full!

This ice maker works real well, there were a couple of drawbacks about the item, but nothing that can not overcome with a little patience. the cubes are smaller, and the ice maker takes a little longer to make the ice.

Fit and works perfectly. Realize that after it’s installed it take hours for it to start making ice. The reason I saw is that the body of the ice maker needs to reach a specific temp to start making ice. 15 degrees F if I remember correctly.

We learned to let our repair guy order the parts. There are too many variables to pick out the right replacement part if you've never done this before. This one wasn't compatible with our Kenmore because the original cord doesn't fit this ice maker. I was really slow about getting a professional here to try to install it so requested a return pretty late, but the seller was great to refund me without even sending the ice maker back.

What is sheerness on this review?The ice cubes are hollow after a few attempts to regulate the water. Will keep trying. Our fridge/freezer is 14 yrs old and this is the 2nd ice maker we've bought. Not too bad since we LOVE ice in this house and it is in use all the time. We shall see if the ice comes out more whole instead of hollow.

used this product at the pier. bought because i seen others using it. it works really well. i am very happy with this purchase.

Overall easy to install and creates great ice. The only minor challenge is removal of wiring harness from the old ice maker that installs on the new ice maker. On the old ice maker remove the cover that covers the mechanical parts that kicks out the ice to remove the wiring harness.

replaced leaky ice maker with this and it works perfect . My husband installed. The hardest part was getting to it . We have bottom freezer . So clearly the drawers have to all come out as well as the door to access . A hassle but, not the ice makers fault. Much cheaper than a repair person
