Classic looks in sweet shiny chrome, just keep expectations in check
Was looking for a cheaper backup of my beloved Shure classic mics and this similarly-styled Nady crossed my radar. Price is solid for an all metal dynamic mic of this look so I went ahead and got it. The chassis may be metal, yet the weight is considerably lighter than higher-end classic mics, leading me to think some of the metal isn't so "metal". Sound quality and response isn't bad at all, one is definitely not going to want to sing into it as closely as a more expensive Shure model because the Nady isn't nearly as forgiving at close proximity (needs more space than I typically sing with to hit the sweet spot). The Nady does fill my need of having a stylish mic to offer the odd musician that shows up without their own and my pain would certainly be much easier to bear should something happen to this mic versus my favorite microphone friends.

Not Sure If It's Even Real
It arrived on time, but there is a rattling noise inside, like something came loose because a D-Bag delivery driver dropped my mic. Besides that, sound is weird and it feels like cheap aluminum as opposed to metal. I got both PCM 100 AND 200. And the 100 is waaaaay better built than whatever mediocre version of the 200 they sent me π

Looks Good and Performs Well - Two Considerations
Looks:If you want to have a great performing microphone with cool retro looks, this is it. The Nady has that Elvis look that many want and I have yet to meet someone who didn't compliment the looks of it.The performance:It is a very sensitive microphone. It picks up highs, mid-ranges, and lows very well. It will pick up sounds to about 3 - 4 feet quite well, so if you are looking to play around with the inputs on your mixing board and you should be just fine. While it is sensitive, it is also durable. If you have someone get too loud, it will not pop, break, or cause any negative response. If anything, the microphone will show the flaws in that person's voice. I think that is high praise for a microphone in this price range.Downsides:1) Phantom power. The actual description never mentions it requires it, so don't put yourself in my situation and miss that little tidbit. I ended up running quickly to Guitar Center to correct that issue as my favorite mixer doesn't offer that option. Amazon offers better options at a better price, so don't forget it.2) On/Off.It doesn't have a switch, so if you plan cut it from a mixing board you are fine. If you want to do this from the unit (live performances/DJ), then get an XLR male/female adapter with a cut switch.Overall:Great microphone that will get you noticed, either in person or in the studio. It really is an amazing little device.

Jazz Vocalist / Studio Engineer Review
First of all, I'm very grateful they used FedEx to ship this. UPS frequently botches my shipments by crushing them.Moving on, I like this mic and bought it for the look-- as I would assume most would. This is, by studio standards, an incredibly basic condenser mic. Unlike the next model, this mic doesn't have frequency cut or DB cut, so its application may not work in all live settings. When I use my other condensers to sing, sometimes I have to cut either the DB or frequency because it's picking up too much of the band ("bleeding"). As long as the singer is far enough away from an output signal (ie, amps, monitors) it probably wouldn't be an issue. The housing is very solid and sturdy, and so is the case. Everything you need for the road. The great part is the attachment to place it on a mic stand is part of the housing, so no more worrying about clips breaking. This mic requires phantom power, so you'll need a basic mixer board, or active PA or monitor speaker to make it work; or alternatively a mic amp.

Not as shiny as the Sure but looks better than the average microphone
I purchased for use during wedding receptions announcements. Not as shiny as the Sure but looks better than the average microphone. Solid build, comes in a nice padded case. You have to be right up on it for it to pick you up... good because there is rarely any feedback... bad because it seems to really make those plosives pop. I bought it for the looks so don't particularly want to use an unsightly plosive guard. You can really yell into it quite loud without any distortion. I do about 20 gigs a year so I need something that not only looks good but is sturdy and reliable. So far so good. Four stars for the very bad plosive and lack of shine. UPDATE- several years in and it's holding up strong! HIghly recommend.

Attractive but lacking.
I chose this microphone because of the look and the reviews. Someone wrote that they had used it for theatre productions and I thought it was the perfect application. It was much cheaper than the Shure 55SH. So, when I received it, I was pleased by its appearance and it came in a nice carrying case. It wasn't long after I set it up that I realized that it wasn't going to work. The microphone pics up all the ambient sound, and as the stand was sitting on a platform I could hear myself walking up to the mic. When I touched the mic stand it transfered sound through the stand. It just wasn't going to work. I called my local mic geek and he explained in detail why this was happening. Without the long winded technical explanations, suffice it to say that I would not be able to use this in the way I intended. So, on a tight turn around I purchased the Shure55SH. The price was higher but the quality is amazing. If you are looking for a durable mic go with the Shure. If not, the Nady looks great in photographs.

Great style and sound!
If you're looking for a nice retro styled mic of yesterday but don't want to pay the high price of a Shure 55, than this mic is for you. This is a high quality mic that is very solidly built. Fit and finish are excellent. And most importantly, the sound quality is excellent. In fact, I'm amazed at just how good this thing sounds considering the inexpensive price. It has a nice crisp, clear and open sound. IMO, it rivals the Shure 55. This mic doesn't have the bright chrome finish like the Shure, rather a silver/grey matte finish, but I like it better.I use this mic at my karaoke shows, in addition to my wireless mics, and it's always a big hit with customers. So, if you want the look, the sound, and the quality, all for an unbelievably low price, than this is the mic for you.

looks good - sounds great
It has a nice brushed aluminum finish complimented with a great sound. When you switch to the "off" position, the mic will not 'buzz' with a grounding out sound. It doesn't show as well as the RSQ RM200 - but it does have a cleaner sound. I bought 2 of them as gifts for my groomsmen - good value for the price and comes in a nice hard shell case.
