For $88? Yes please.
This is the first Mooer pedal I've purchased, and the only noise suppressor/gate I've ever used. For how cheap it is, it's absolutely worth it.During shows, one of two things would happen. We would be playing, and then there'd be a break in the song where everything drops out. Except instead of silence, you'd here the ridiculous static hum from my amplifier set up. It was extremely noisy. The other option was the song would be over, and a few seconds afterwards you'd hear radio frequencies coming through my amplifier loud and clear, boosted by my compressor pedal.I hated dancing around to try and turn my distortion and compression off, then back on during every single stop and start during the set. This pedal absolutely fixed the problem. I set the threshold around negative 40 and can leave it all night if I want. At that level, it never really messes up my sustain and always cuts out the fuzz. The only reason I gave it four stars was because I felt like just a tiny, tiny bit of life left my tone when I activated the circuit. But it might be just because I'm used to hearing the fuzz inbetween notes when I play, compared to a completely naked cut off. So this might not be a problem with the pedal, but a problem I personally have with noise gates/suppressors.If you're wondering, my rig set up is as follows -Gibson Studio Les Paul Swamp AshOrange Rockerverb 50 WattOrange 2x12 closed back cabPedal Chain - Turbo Tuner by Sonic, Keeley 4 knob compressor, and either the Mooer Noise Killer or a vintage TS 808 to end my small chain, depending on the set. All cables are Livewire Elites. The chain is powered by a Voodoo Lab ISO-5.

SMALL SPACE...HUGE IMPACT
First off the biggest misunderstanding of "Noise Gates" is that they are attenuators in that they close when your not playing as to not allow any noise through...they do not clean a signal nor reduce the amount of noise as you play and placement in your chain is vital for control (or what your trying to control).I play different kinds of basses but I've noticed quite a bit of noise and found it to be from the origin of my signal or the pickups from my bass...my placement of the "Noise Killer" is at the very beginning of my chain and not one noise can be heard, even when Activate boosts or compressors to use a SAHH3 and SABEFPro.Some put it right after a distortion, overdrive or fuzz to control Unwanted sounds...again this pedal makes a huge impact on my board when placed after drives/fuzzes. DO NOT place after a Reverb or Analouge delays, the gate will close as your signal decays and youll have unwanted volume cuts and signal disruptions and swells turn into disasters. As a noise gate they all (Mxr Noise Clamp/Smart Gate, Boss NS2) do the same thing, but real estate on my board is in short supply and the small foot print of the Moore Noise Killer was a selling point for me. The threshold knob is a bit to fluid and is moved with the slightest touch and can again cause signal disruption. The switch at the top is the "attack" of the pedal "Hard" is a fast attack and closes as soon as you lift you fingers off the board likewise the "soft" is a slow attack (prob. For hose who place it after a reverb?) and allows just under 2 seconds of a decaying signal through before the gate closes.I am more than satisfied with this pedal...again I was hesitant over the size but needed to reserve space on my board so I bought it...and I'll never give it up as long as I have somewhat noisy basses...If your thinking about a gate, buy this you won't be displeased...Keep makin em Moore...I'll keep buying em!

good gate
The Mooer MNR1 Noise Killer Gate Pedal is actually a pretty cool pedal. I play on a Praise & Worship team at a medium sized church and our lights cause my tube amp and pickups to hum like crazy. I put this tiny (and it has a tiny footprint) pedal on my board right after my overdrives. I had the knob (gate) at about 11 to 12o'clock. It cut the hum perfectly. There is a switch "hard/soft" which allows you to set how long it takes before the gate comes back on after playing. I set it to "hard" but will likely set it to "soft" on my next service. The problem that I have with this pedal, and the reason for four stars instead of five, is that when you roll back your volume knob to tame your tube amp, the tone suffers. It also does not cut background noise when you play. So, you do have to put up with some hum, just not as bad when you're not playing. Also, if you are playing very softly, I would recommend turning the pedal off. Dynamically, you really need to be playing at a decent level to get the best out of this pedal. All in all this is a great gate for the money. I love that it is so small and hardly takes up any space on my pedalboard. It works perfectly for what it is and I will likely keep this around on my board for a good while (indefinitely). Four stars from me!

Does a great job of gating
Was an very happy with the Moore’s ability to gate and quite down my pedal board. Has two modes of gating, both work well. Small size makes it an easy addition to your pedal board. Recommended!

Surprisingly good
I didn't know what to expect but I have other Mooer stuff and it all is really good stuff and very affordable. You can slow the beats up or down and it's a good way to practice timing.

Keeps it quiet until you play a note.
Keeps it quiet until you play a note. Then the fuzz comes in, works well though it doesn't seem like a studio solution.

Awesome little pedal
It does everything it says it does. The build it solid. The price is reasonable. And the size of the thing makes it inconspicuous on my Will buy more from Mooer.

Top Noisegate, guter Preis
