Mahatma Jasmine rice is a long grain rice variety; also known as fragrant, aromatic, or scented rice. Grown in the mountain highlands of Thailand for centuries, jasmine rice was first cultivated for the royalty of the kingdom of Siam. Named after the sweet-smelling jasmine flower of Southeast Asia, jasmine rice has a naturally distinctive scent released during the cooking process and is likened to a flowery perfume. Jasmine rice is praised for its whiteness and silkiness. Cooked, it is soft, white and fluffy. The taste of this rice enhances the traditional spices of oriental cookery.

Beware!
I bought this rice in April and have been eating it from this specific bag since. This weekend I decided to make a big rice dish for Memorial Day and when I went to pour a substantial amount of rice out, a big green chunk of what looks like mold came out. Green fumes also went into the air and into my face (causing me to have a sore throat). I don’t know what this is, or what I’ve been eating this past month. Please be careful eating this and inspect it first.

Don't ever buy from them
The rice came smelling like a dead body. I have it unopened in my pantry and my entire pantry smells like a dead body. There isn't anything in my pantry that should smell. I realized the only new thing I placed in that pantry was this bag of rice. Picked up the unopened bag and the smell is awful. I need a refund asap.

Bag is not insect-proof
I bet you thought this strong plastic bag was probably insect-proof. Take a closer look! There are tiny holes throughout the entire bag that are just the right size for those bugs that love to crawl into a bag of rice to fit through. This is fabulous rice, but unless you immediately transfer it to a better container, you're gonna be sharing it with whatever else lives in your house!

So far the worst rice I’ve gotten on Amazon Fresh
Unfortunately there aren’t too many authentic Thai Jasmine rice brands on Amazon Fresh, but this one has definitely been the worst out of all of the ones I’ve tried. The texture is awful… The other option Dynasty Jasmine Rice isn’t popular in Thailand either, but their rice is a LOT better than this.

No lo recomiendo
Le pongo una 🌟 porque es obligado pero no lo pusiera. No es el arroz que muestran en la página el que mandaron yo lo compro en los mercados a $19.99. Es una estafa 😡

Bugs
I love this rice and brand but I will never buy it online again. After about 3 months I noticed bugs in the cabinet. I looked in they were inside the bag of rice everywhere. I ended wasting money on this much rice. I bought because of the COVID-19 THINKING I needed to stock up.

Inedible
It doesn’t matter how you try to cook it it just ends up raw in the middle and mushy outside. I have followed the instructions on the bag 3 times and after that I have tweaked the process several times in hopes of better results but it all ends badly. This is very bad rice. It isn’t the first time I cook rice I have been doing it all my life but this rice is just bad.

Okay rice
Not awful, not great. Just a middle of the road Thai Jasmine rice. Week flavor and disappointing texture. We ate the entire bag, but will not order again.
