Only glows under direct UV.
It's a decent ball for contact. I was hoping to be able to charge the UV and let it continue glowing while I danced with it, but the glow is immediately gone when it doesn't have a UV light shining on it - there is no residual effect like you'd see with other materials.Great if you're doing choreographed stage performance or at an event with black lights, not so much if you're playing with it solo using a portable source.

Pretty dang cool. I thought it would be a bit larger but I have grown to like the size and weight. Still waiting to check the glow under a blacklight
