Methods of Bible Study [Thomas, W.H. Griffith] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Methods of Bible Study Review: Methods of Bible Study - Excellent study of Bible study methods to enrich anyone's Bible study. Review: How to study the Bible - It's amazing that this little book was published more than a hundred years ago, yet the advice is fresh and valuable. This is not a study of the Bible, but a book about how to study the Bible. The author offers a variety of ways to study--the Bible as a whole, the Old Testament and the New Testament by categories of writings (historical, poetical, prophetical, Gospels, Acts, epistles), the Old Testament and New Testament by doctrines and subjects, and minute study (verses, words and phrases). There are enough suggestions here that a Bible student should never run out of ways to study the complete Bible, the Old and New Testaments, individual books, and even smaller segments of the Word of God. The final two chapters focus on the supreme object of Bible study ("the devotional use of the Bible, the study of it as the revelation of God to the soul of man") and the student's need for two Bibles (one for knowledge/study that is used for marking and making notes and one for devotional reading that is kept clear of any markings to get a fresh message from God each reading). My Sunday School class just completed a 16-week course on this book, but it would be very good for individual reading as well.
