This is a great pedal if you're looking to create soundscapes
PROS: This is a great pedal if you're looking to create soundscapes. It's very versatile and the octave addition feature can do some really spooky, ethereal stuff. I really like the "tweak" pot which lets you control the brightness of the reverberated signal. I bought the pedal because I was originally looking at the Seraphim Mono Shimmer and this, in addition to having a really great shimmer effect, also had a hall and reverse setting. As someone else said, I haven't found a use for the reverse setting but the hall does a good cavernous reverb.CONS: Because the "dry mix", "wet mix", "dry signal", and "reverb time" pots all play important factors in determining the verb, it can be cumbersome to find the sound you want. This gives you a lot of control but also requires a lot of subtle tweaking. You will definitely have to set presets to use this pedal live. My main criticism of this pedal is that even with the "reverb time" pot turned down all the way, the reverb is still fairly long meaning that this pedal does not work as an all-purposes reverb.Overall it gets 4 stars because it's great at what it does but it loses one for the convoluted controls and the long reverb time. This is an incredible pedal for abstract soundscapes but does not work as a general reverb.

Incredible sounds, minor drawbacks
Absolutely love the crazy sounds you can come up with on the Descent. The reverb sounds are stellar! My only issue is that using the left mono output, there's a ton of clicking as you rotate any of the knobs - not ideal. This doesn't happen using the right output however, and since I only use this in studio it's not a dealbreaker.Overall, this pedal rules. Build quality is great.

Big Fan
Fantastic sounding reverb pedal. I love the dark vibes and undertones. The 1 octave up and 1 octave down knobs are a really nice touch. I also love the fact that it has dip switches inside to make it a stereo pedal. (With additional dongle, not included) Super rad because I plan on plugging a few synths into it as well. It’s a little pricey ($299) but well worth it for the sounds you can get out of it. Definitely watch a few videos of it in action before pulling the trigger, so you know what you’re getting into.

Good product, but better pedals at comparable prices
This thing works fine, but it's expensive. I opted to return it and get Electro-Harmonix ocean's 12 because the price is comparable and the functionality of the EH unit is expansive

Totally sweet and nothing like any other reverb pedal on the market. Takes a while to learn how to fine tune, thus the loss of one star. The reverse function is kind of a wash (I'm sure others would disagree), but hall and shimmer make the pedal. Presets are great and the thing looks awesome! I would recommend it for sure.

Still have not tested all of its qualities, but as far as what I have done works well. I will say more when I finish.

Good sounding reverb
Good sounding reverb. Would've given 4-5 stars if it weren't for that the presets can act up when jumping from one to another. This seems to be due to the position of the knobs at the time of the save and/or change to another preset.

Awesome pedal. Would recommend to anyone not wanting to spend Strymon money but desiring that glassy shimmering reverb. Cool pedal. I dig the products
