Mrs. Sharp's Traditions

This is such a beautiful book. I purchase my copy when my children were ages 10 and five. My daughter is married now and embarking on her own family journey. She called me a few weeks ago and asked where I found my copy because she couldn't locate one. I immediately hopped on to Amazon and was delighted to locate this particular printing, as it is the same cover/artwork as my copy. This book had meant so much to her because I made it a tradition for years to read to my kids from each corresponding monthly chapter for years. That touched my heart that she found it so special she wanted to continue the tradition, even if it is just her and her husband for now. :)This book would be perfect for homeschoolers (we homeschooled as well), who want to incorporate the history of holidays and the "why" behind so many ofour traditions. It is beautiful with lush Victorian stylephoto's and unique fonts. I always have loved all of Saea Ban Breathnach's writings and this book is no exception. If you have appreciated her "Simple Abundance" books, you will undoubtedly enjoy this.Shipping was timely, book arrived in good co diction as described.

Lots of good information for holidays that no one seems to recognize any longer such as May Day. I keep it on my kitchen counter as a display piece, open to the pages of the month or holidays we are celebrating at the moment.

I used this book when my children were little and growing up. We had such fun celebrating so much through the year. Now I have grandchildren and I gave this book to my daughters so they can carry on life's celebrations with their little ones! Such good memories!

Un beau livre avec beaucoup à lire et de jolies illustrations. On se demande quand même dans quelle mesure il reflète la réalité historique ou la vision de l'auteur sur l'époque victorienne. Une jolie source d'inspiration, quoi qu'il en soit.
