definitely not your regular chick flick, but quite possibly one of the best Nicholas Sparks movies next to the Best of Me. I watched this movie with my dad when it came on the tv and we immediately got sucked in. by the end of the movie he was balling! we were both crying! it's very intense at some points but that is what keeps in so interesting and addicting. Absolutely 100% recommend this movie! definitely for ages 15 and older unless you skip the bedroom scene cause other than that its perfect for teenage girls. Quite possibly my favorite Nicholas Sparks movie. I recommend to just go ahead a buy it. you won't regret it!

This movie is really great! It features two of my favorite actors and the scenery is beautiful. I enjoyed the twist at the end very much. If you like romantic dramas I highly recommend this movie.

This is a wonderful movie to watch over and over again. It is such a feel good movie and one just right on a rainy day to relax and enjoy. The casting is perfect and the story is sweet. There is nothing not to like - even the parts that get you mad, when you think all the happiness might end, it still works out and all is well! What a great price for a great movie!

The threatening energy of Hough being tracked down by a psycho cop kind of spoils the budding romance. Oh yeah, and the fact that we as the audience are lead to believe that she actually killed someone and is running away from her crime - to see her smile and go about her new life with such ease is strange. There are a lot of plot oddities and character arcs that don't line up and while the ending was a little tear-jerker-y I just couldn't buy how a man was SO in love with a woman who [spoiler alert] he kinda just found out her name, indirectly caused his entire house to burn down and put his child in lethal danger, and frankly just doesn't KNOW.

A movie can never hold a true expectation from it's book. However, I still though it was an adorable romance and wasn't awkward at all!!! There were a few differences that I wish would have just been left alone (i.e. some events to the storyline, and the little boys behavior). They did change the little girls name, which honestly isn't a bad idea. When I read the book the main character and the little girl both started with the letter "K." I'm sure they did this to help the viewers keep the names straight. I also thought the husband wasn't crazy enough, but it wasn't my favorite aspect in the movie anyway, so I'm not that concerned. I do think as well that some people might have been confused in the first 30 minutes if they hadn't read the book. But then again, when is Nicholas Sparks story lines ever clean cut from the beginning? They aren't! :) I loved it! 5 stars, only a few typical complaints, but I don't care. I'm going to end up buying the movie anyway.

Good movie

OMG, I just finished streaming this and it takes a lot to get to me but this movie did. I won't give it away but the ending is simply amazing and something I would have never in a million years have expected. Josh Duhamel is a hugely under rated and under used Actor as is Julianne Hough. I remember Josh Duhamel from All My Children back in the 80's and then there was the Transformers franchise but he does not get near the exposure that he should. Julianne Hough is known for her time on Dancing With The Stars and her Rooms To Go TV commercials and she was in the second release of Footloose but she is under rated as well. This movie has influences from Message In A Bottle and Sleeping With The Enemy but it is in a class of its own. See this movie, you will not regret it.

A great book turned into a pretty good film.If you loved the Note Book, you'll love this. Written by the same author, it doesn't disappoint.A mystery woman turns up in a town on the middle of nowhere, clearly scared and running from someone. Then she meets a talk dark and handsome man, sounds like a clichè . It is, but there's more to it. A dodgy ex, a secret past. Maybe a second chance at love?The two leads have natural chemistry and I really enjoyed it.

Safe Haven is a wonderful tale of romance, with tension and loss thrown in along the way. This romance story has so many different elements to it that I think it can offer a great watch for anyone, an abused woman escapes her home to find a new life but her old life is trying to catch up with her.I think Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel share the perfect chemistry on screen, ultimately a feel good film but it involves an emotional rollercoaster along the way.

A very beautiful movie, the actors did a great job portraying these complex characters and really brought the book to life, even though there are a few differences in the movie compared to the book, but it is a fantastic adaptation. A must watch movie. I would say I enjoyed this one more than the notebook

This is one of my favourite movies, its such a feel good movie. I love the location of the movie - Southport North Carolina, its my ideal get away place. The movie is a modern version of sleeping with the enemy. Its about a girl that's in an abusive relationship and runs away to an idealic location to find peace and quite, only for her abusive husband to find her. If you love the idea of running away and love romance movies, pick this movie!

Great film good storyline and characters are wonderfully interwoven the backdrop is beautiful. What’s not to love
