I can't believe this happened
I didn't know that stuff like this ever happened. I read this book and my eyes were opened. Turns out people used to "own" other people. Weird I know. Anyways, there's like some heroic folks that wrote and sang and protested and looked cool while doing it in Harlem. Talented 10th and all that. Marcus Garvey was a bad ass until he got the money problems and then he did bad and had to go home. Super cool people up in Harlem around WWI.

Five Stars
Very informative and filled with interesting information. My only compliant is the font size is way too small.

Good collection, but Lewis tries to ignore Alain Locke
Good collection, but Lewis tries to ignore Alain Locke, and Locke's "The New Negro" is probably a better book.

Well curated
Fabulous reader/anthology. A solid text to teach a course.
