1-Inch Slab Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Cal King

well i was looking for something for my back i had gotten a pillow top fitted mattress bed sheet it was ok but not enough and i got this and i fell in love with it. yeah it short on the sides but hey that's life. it has improved my sleeping experience bye far my back no longer hurts laying down and i sleep like a baby and wake up not wanting to get out bed lol. i no longer toss and turn ether. so yeah it's a wonderful product for the price and Ive had no problems with it at all.

When I was reading the reviews on this, I felt like they were 50-50 in terms of being good and bad. I decided to take the plunge because the truth is, Amazon has such good customer service, I figured if it really wasn't as advertised they would help me remedy the issue so the risk was low! Anyway, my concerns were unsubstantiated! I think this a FANTASTIC mattress pad! I needed it to put on top of an air mattress that was really so hard that it was almost uncomfortable. This pad makes a huge difference in comfort w my air mattress. I had read that some people felt that it wasn't like memory foam and was really more just foam, but I disagree and am very pleased w the elasticity of the memory foam. The only issues I had w my pad were cosmetic: 1. the cut of the pad is semi jagged around the edges, I feel like the company could've done a nicer job - BUT it still covers the mattress as it should, so not a huge issue...and 2. It came tightly packaged in plastic - when I laid it out flat I noticed there was some darker discoloration in a few random areas. I don't think they were actually dirty, but I think it's worth mentioning. Again, only cosmetic issues really on this particular pad. Overall though I think this is a great memory foam mattress pad. I actually had the opportunity to pop in to a Walmart and feel one of their equivalently priced pads and I was much less impressed, way more foam-y then memory foam-y! Very happy w my purchase!

I ordered this item to lay on top of the twin air mattress I use for guests - memory foam generally sleeps very warm, and air mattresses are rather chilly, hence this material choice. The Twin XL was $10 cheaper than the regular twin, so I figured I'd order the larger one and cut it down. This is by far the lowest price I've ever seen for a simple, no frills memory foam mattress topper, which was the driving force of my purchase decision.Keep in mind this is ONLY memory foam - no fabric or quilt wrapping, no integrated mattress pad. I would recommend a mattress pad between the foam and the sheet you use (I bought one at Ikea for 6 bucks). And yes, there is the smell, but it's no different from any memory foam smell I've encountered before. Polyurethane is known to off-gas; if that's a problem for you, then memory foam is not the material for you, regardless of the manufacturer. I aired mine out for a couple days and the smell was undetectable by me.There are only three things I would caution potential buyers about this item (and these are not complaints, just things I wish I had known before making this purchase):First, my topper came at slightly different dimensions than advertised. It's listed at 34" x 76"; mine came at 32.5" x 74", which worked in my favor, but might be too short for someone who really needs a true Twin XL.Second, the topper was folded into a bag that was about 20" x 12" in diameter, but came in a box that was, literally, 24" x 54" x 18"!!!! Good thing I had a truck when I went to pick it up. I've already suggested to Amazon that they reduce the size of the box . You might want to bring a box cutter with you if you don't have room for a small cardboard coffin in your vehicle.Finally, this is a very thin piece of memory foam. If you're looking for that jump-on-the-bed-without-spilling-a-glass-of-wine effect, this is definitely not gonna get you there. I purchased this product only for very occasional use; for my own bed, I have 4 inches of memory foam on top (a far more significant investment).Thus far, I'm very happy with this purchase for the purpose I intended it for. Twenty dollars well spent!

For what you pay this is more than you can ask for. I actually used this as a substitute for acoustic foam since this is cheaper and plentiful and works great. Now as a pillow top it's really soft so if you like that then this is for you. As for me I'm going to use the rest as a pillow because I prefer my mattress on the firm side and my pillows soft. Shipping was blazing fast, ordered it and 2 days later it was here on standard free shipping :) which is always a huge plus.

After nearly succumbing to asphyxiation from the unbearable fumes this thing gives off (my entire apartment REEKED for days after airing it out), I finally put it on my mattress. I don't think I slept a wink that first night--not because it wasn't comfortable (it's not bad in terms of comfort, but really too thin to provide any real cushiony support), but because all I could smell was polyurethane. By morning, my pajamas stunk, my skin and hair stunk, my bedding stunk. Awful. I decided to stick it out and continue to sleep on it in the hope that the smell would gradually wear off. A month later, it still stinks (and stinks up my pajamas and skin, too) but to a lesser degree. I guess I've just gotten used to it. I've had egg crate mattresses in the past and none of them have smelled like this one. Plus, after a couple of nights sleeping on it, there is a big, permanent indentation in the shape of my body down the middle--and I am not at all heavy...
