Fried after 6 months but completely refunded
Worked great on an Exmark for 6 months. I noticed it began struggling to turn the engine over at about month #5. Now even with a booster box it won’t complete even 1 revolution of the starting phase.* I contacted the distributor and they refunded the purchase price within 5 days. Great customer service but I will be going OEM in the future.

Fits 35hp Briggs and Stratton
I bought this to replace the starter in my old Scag Turf Tiger with a 35hp Briggs. The original starter was a denso 428000-0230. Briggs list the no-load starter max amperage as 35 amps. Mine was at 55amps and was the cause of my slow to start/no start condition. Before I discovered this, I had upgraded the battery cables diameter, installed a new solenoid, and even installed another helper solenoid. This starter tested out of the box as drawing 40 amps no load. I installed it anyway and my mower started right up. The difference is night and day. I cannot speak to longevity, but the additional 5 amps does not appear to be a factor -at least for now. I would buy again. A genuine Denso starter if you can find one is approaching $300.

Didn't last very long
My OEM starter on my 35 hp Briggs and Stratton lasted 900 engine hours, this one lasted 125 hours. It's only a quarter of the price but the original lasted seven times as long. I just replaced this starter with an OEM starter and unfortunately it was made in China too.

Could've caused serious damage
The media could not be loaded. The gear on this starter disconnected from the solenoid after about 3-4 uses. This caused the starter gear to make contact with my engine flywheel spinning at full speed. Luckily there is minimal damage to my motors flywheel. As you can see in the video the starter gear is completely loose and does not spring back at all. The seller would not take this faulty part back for a refund because it was beyond 30 days. (Meanwhile I didn't have time to even install this starter in my motor within 30 days of getting it). I recommend going with someone else. Cheap starter and lack of customer service.
