It is an extension of my will.The stand flips up in an instant, and seems it will operate well for years to come.I feel confident my phone is heavily protected with the hard layer over the soft layer.Its lovely alligator tread all grippy and fantastic makes it much less likely to slide on surfaces. The phone stays put in a very satisfying, heavy, rock-like way."Surfaces" includes my hands; I am a phone-dropper, and I haven't dropped my phone since I have had this case.Main complaints:"Down" volume button is a little resistant relative to the "up."A fancy wide-protection headphone plug doesn't fit in the space normal ones do, and so I have to take it out of the case (both layers) on those special occasions when I want to plug it into speakers. But! Normal headphones do fine.EDIT: Bought a second one, and it seems to be slightly lower production quality. The kickstand on this one has more friction and does not click into place.

This is a pretty good case, especially for the price. It was fairly easy to install on my phone and all of the function buttons still work great. I've owned cases made by both Otter and Trident. The Trident Kraken was my favorite, so when I needed a new case, that was the one I was aiming for, but alas couldn't locate one for my phone. I decided to give this Empire case a chance to see how it compared. I really like the looks of the Trident Kraken and this case has that same rugged, almost tactical, look and feel. I still like the Trident best (better protection, looks more refined and the softer rubber portion of the Trident feels better in hand), but this one isn't far behind. Also bear in mind that the Trident cost nearly four times as much. The only reason I didn't give this case a full five stars is because I don't think the "soft" part of the case is soft enough to offer the same impact absorption as the soft portions of the Otter or Trident cases. It was also a bit more of struggle to get the soft portion of this case around my phone, but not so prohibitive that it can't be accomplished. I really like the raised ridges and protrusions on this case as they offer very good traction for grip. The usb and headphone plug-ins are also easy to access with the case in place. The case doesn't come with a screen protector so I just ordered one that was also made by Empire (same manufacture as the case). Together they should provide sufficient protection and all at a very reasonable price.

I wanted solid protection for my phone without shelling out the premium case price. For about 1/3 of the price, this case delivers sturdy protection without dramatically increasing the bulk. I think it looks good, too -- some of the inexpensive cases just look cheap, but not this one.I have a belt pouch made for Droid Maxx phones and my phone still fits into it with this case on, albeit a little snugly.As a bonus, this case provides a nice gripping surface. I have had protective cases in the past that were rather slick and slippery, which somewhat defeats the purpose of putting a case on the phone.My kickstand works perfectly and I use it a lot. My case is black, so the problem that some had with lighter colored cases getting dingy doesn't apply.My favorite products are those that provide solid quality at a great value, and to me this one fits the bill. I've recommended it to friends and family.

I really like this case, especially considering the price. I believe it is just as impact resistant as an Otterbox because i dropped my phone onto some concrete and it is fine. The case didn't even show any signs of the hit. The stand is useful once in a while but it wouldn't bother me too much if it broke off. My only complaint about the case is that when texting you will often times hit the "B" button instead of the space key because of the thickness of the case. AT least it happens to me a lot. Lots of "Bs" in between words.

This is great and does exactly what it should do, protect the phone. It is a little bulky but for light drops it is fine. The stand is a little flimsy and feels cheap. It gives you two standing options but both are horizontal. It does not give you a vertical stand option. I would recommend this with a screen protector. The screen is fully usable even with the edges very close. It does seem to collect dust where the ports are located but that is expected.

I have had this case for over 8 months now and it has exceeded expectations. I have giant sausage fingers and drop this phone from time to time and this case has saved it every time. Pair it with a high quality screen protector and you are good to go. People complain that it is too big and bulky but if you want small and sleek, you are going to sacrifice usability.

I wasn't too sure about the ability of this case to protect my phone in a fall, but today I found out that it does a fine job. Dropped my phone onto black top asphalt in a parking lot and it bounced around on the corners for a few beats and then settled fine out flat. Minor scuffs on the case, phone perfectly fine.So for a very affordable case, this'll be your daisy.

Kind of cheap plastic, but it's the first case that has actually fit my Motorola Droid Maxx (not the Razor -it won't for Razor Maxx). It was VERY hard to get on and I wish the bottom part went up a little more to at least the screen protector, but I'm really just thrilled that it fits!
