I'm 5'11" about 200 lbs and the X-Large fits great. Have put off spending the money and put up with the occasional slag burn. I weld/cut as a hobby and for repairs so it's not often. Have been welding/cutting a bit more lately, arms were looking rough at a family gathering so decided to spend the dollars. Glad I did and should have done it long ago. Well worth the money, will last many years and was silly to not get one sooner. Cut a couple bumper bolts a couple days ago (on my back, on the ground, under the car a bit), wore this for protection. Was amazed at how many black spots it had on it - that would have been burn marks. Nothing burned thru the jacket - highly recommend.

Description says it has a front zipper and snaps - NO ZIPPER!!!
Jacket is fine for this price point, but the main reason I selected this jacket is the description says "The front closure has a lined flap with a zipper and snaps for added protection from spatter." This jacket DOES NOT HAVE A LINED FLAP WITH A ZIPPER. A lot of my welding is done laying under the work, so I wanted a jacket that would provide protection between the snaps. So, if the zipper is a factor in your decision, know ahead of time there isn't one.Amazon use to give a link to correct inaccurate description information. If its still there, I didn't see it/couldn't find it.

Yes, you should order one size larger than normal
I read the other reviews stating that the sizes ran small so took a chance and ordered an XL when I would normally order a Large. It fits perfectly. I'm 5'11" and 150 lb but typically wear a shirt and sweatshirt when working in my shop so I need a larger than normal size. If I'm just wearing a T-shirt, then a large would be fine for me considering that I like a roomy fit as I like to have plenty of room to move my arms when wearing a jacket. I use the welding jacket when restoring old cars (crawling under cars), welding patch panels and light fabrication. The jacket is well made but does leave a lot of orange fuzz on my sweatshirt, but I expect that to stop after some use. It's not like I'm wearing my best polyester disco suit when in the shop so the orange fuzz doesn't bother me ;-) Others have noted a strong odor but mine is virtually odor free right out of the box. I deducted one star due to the unusual sizing.

Great welding jacket
Great welding jacket! This jacket is adequately thick, good quality for the price, and does the job. Spent several full-time weeks, welding overhead with no burns to me. Jacket holds up well with only surface burns to it. I'm definitely happy with the protection this jacket is providing me.Update June 21, 2017: I've been welding full time in this jacket for months now, and it's still holding up great! Highly durable and protective. It's definitely hot in this jacket during these summer months but the burn protection is outstanding. I'm welding overhead daily and still no significant burns with this jacket. The collar is a huge bonus to this jacket, and gives great all around neck/throat coverage. Excellent ppe for the price!

OK product. Nothig to brag about.
Quality of product is ok. Sizing is an issue. I bought a Size Large. Size XL wasn't offered. I'm 5'10", 180 pounds. Not a big guy. Fit was tight if I wear a sweat shirt under the jacket. I'm not wearing this jacket all day long like an ironworker might, so I can live with it. Also, the tanning chemicals weren't neutralized so the jacket smells. I had to hang the jacket outside in the summer sun for a month to burn off the stink. Don't tell me this is normal. I was purchasing leathers for ironworker crews 40 years ago and their smell was similar to a leather dress jacket.

It made me feel ill
No kidding. Stunk up the house. Then one room. Then the entire shop. I couldn't even be in the same 30x40 foot building. I've read of others airing it out for month's. Washing it with tide? Fabreezing. No idea what they put on it, but it's not good if it makes me feel sick and not want to breath when around it. I had to return it. I could have sworn I saw the exact same jacket at tractor supply a few years ago, and it smelled fine. I'll have to see if I can source something local, because even a name brand like lincoln, on amazon can't be trusted I guess. Maybe it's fake or something. Who knows. I just want it away from me. Far far away from me. Sucks because I liked the design, weight, and feel of it. But no no no no way. Even now it's in a different building, and I feel I need to shower and brush my teeth. I coudln't pack it up, because I don't want it in my house. Amazing. I'm really bumbed.

Great jacket, heavy built leather, very impressed
This is a VERY heavy leather jacket. I am 5' 7", 240lbs. with a 52" chest. This jacket fits, but I could have stood an XXL. Time will tell if I can comfortably work in the jacket and not get bound up. This aside, the jacket is made well and very sturdy. For the price I don't think this jacket can be beat.UPDATE: 08-19-2017After working in the jacket for a month I have found that I can move around and work in it quite well. I had to do quite a bit of welding on my back and the jacket worked very well. It is very heavy, but it is not as hot as one would think. I have worn it for 30 minutes at a time in 90 degree heat and didn't suffocate. The jacket must be aired out and allowed to dry though.

Great buy
I really like this jacket. I bought the large and it fits well. Very well made. My only issue with it is that when I wear it some of the leather bits transfer onto my clothes. It also has a smell but that’s the leather. Other than that I feel very protected by it. Only the color has Velcro the buttons are studs.

Good quality welding jacket.Thicker leather than I expected.
I ordered an extra large and fits my 200lbs body with my two layers of T shit/sweet shirt perfectly, I can stil comfortably move inside it and lift my arms up / around. The quality of the buttons are good ,they nicely click .the stiches are well done, the leather is thick yet soft enough so it can fold when I bend down., over all it is well worth the money I paid for it , I would have given it a 5 star rating had it not shed so much of that yellow stuff which sticks to your sweeter for the first few weeks, it also smells funny but used some Febreeze and now the smell is more tolerable.

Terrific Welding Jacket!
Just received this item. As always, very fast shipping. The jacket is actually better than I though it was going to be. At 6' 180lbs, this Large fits like a tailored suit jacket - not that I own one of those! It is not too tight at all, but will allow me to wear a t-shirt, shirt and still have freedom of movement. I was hoping that it would not be like a potato shack, something without shape and that would get in the way because of a poor fit. And it certainly is not - it is a simply a great fit.Sleeve length is spot on - and I have long arms. Neck closes with Velcro and has room for adjustments. Snaps on the sleeve ends allows you to tighten the size to fit. The length of the body comes down to just below the pocket tops on my jeans. It seems about the right length. The snaps on the front of the jacket are all behind a double layer of leather - which should provide enough backing to prevent the snaps pulling through. The snaps also have the right amount of "snap" or "give". They don't require a huge amount of force to open or close, but they are also quite secure. There is a large inside pocket on the left side, wider than it is deep. I'm not sure what I would store in there... it is sewn on the sides and bottom and has two rivets in the top corners. The only "extra" that would have been welcome, would have been a small Pocket high on the left arm for marking tools, but that's only me.And not that it matters in the least, all the leather bits and pieces match in terms of colour and texture. It really is a good looking jacket! The cleaning instructions state No Washing, No Dry Cleaning.Overall, this is really an excellent product. And although the price is not cheap, it is a surprisingly good valve. It should cost more! And so you know, it is a product that is made in China. As I write this, China and the US are engaged in a Trade War, with the US now imposing even more tariffs on goods coming in. This could effect the price. If you have been thinking of this jacket, you might want to order one sooner than later.

Cant go wrong with Lincoln Electric
This is a great welding jacket. Very thick and heavy but also still quite mobile. Very well made and very durable. Cant go wrong with Lincoln gear.Update: After having worn this for a while, I really cant recommend it enough. Even though its very heavy, its very comfortable. It is very hot though and not great if you dont have good ventilation or are outside in winter heh. If youre doing overhead though, forget the heat, this thing is great. Nothing burns through this thing, at least not yet. Youll definitely feel slag, unless you have a long sleeve shirt on as well, but it wont burn through.

Fantastic buy, real quality matterial
I recently purchased this as a protective piece for both hot metal and any UV or light coming from my welding process. The jacket is just swede leather, not the most comfortable thing in the world but sure beats barbequing your arms with hot metal and arc light. For sizing, I went with XL. I am 5' 8" and 200lbs, arm length is 23" (wrist to shoulder), my chest is 46", height from collarbone to waist 25". About 6" more height to spare, 3" arm length and at least 10" around the chest. Clasps on the wrists will help keep your cuffs out of your palms. Keep in mind that extra space is good as some may be wearing heavy sweaters or lighter, smaller jackets underneath for warmth. Wear something you don't care about though, the jacket does tend to flake off a bit.

Wife will not want it inside the house due to strong leather smell.
Rough hide with some trace “bits” of leather lint which will transfer onto undergarments, also accompanied with strong odour of tanning process. But hey, it’s welding and not to wear out to a fine restaurant. Likely to work in with use and dissipate. If you are unsure on sizing go up instead of down. I am a medium or a large when it comes to garments...fits slightly slimmer so better to go up a size I went with large and was the right move. Works very well.
