About half of the cards already have mistakes on the front part and the questions in German are not better.Example (the "Das Café" card from the sample images):waitress = die Kellnerin der Kellner = waiterdie Eiscreme (Eiskrem) not "das", it would be "das Eis". The gender of a compound noun is determined by the last one.While the idea is OK it would help if the cards were written by someone who actually does know German (and English too - hint: learn the difference between singular and plural, verb stem and gerund, ...)

I was really disappointed with this game.This was our first Brainbox game, as a family ranging from age 5 to 87 we have a wide collection of board games appealing to us all. This game appeals to none of us. On the basis of this purchase, I will not be buying another Brainbox game.'Brain challenge'... I think not. If you are looking for an educational, fun, geography game, take my advice and give this a miss.Positives:Lovely durable box, durable cards (made of board), vibrant coloured illustrations and good mini maps for the location.Now the negatives:First and foremost, it wasn't fun for my 6 year old who was expecting fun facts and questions relating to the country on the card. Instead, he and I were astonished by the ridiculously dull questions relating only to the illustration on the card.Example: France. (Four children playing in a fountain with the Eiffel Tower in the background)Q2 how many children can you see?Q3 are all the children in the water?Q4 is everyone standing up?Etc, etc... Who cares! Yawwwwwn.What a waste of an opportunity to actually make it about interesting places and actually learn something.BRAINBOX.PLAY TOGETHER, LEARN TOGETHER.???This is a picture memory game which has very little to do with the world.Barely informativeBarely interestingNot Fun.

Have previously used similar Brain Box games in my year 5 class and the children love to use it. It's a fun way to reinforce previous learning or learn new things. Topics include: time, shapes, symmetry, distance, statistics, angles, place value, fractions,

It is lots of fun with the family and we still use it today even though we bought it a few years ago. It not only allows you to have a lot of fun with your family, it also allows you to learn new things every time you play, making it one of favorite games.My only problem would be that once you have read all the cards and done everything, it might get boring because you know all the facts and you have seen the cards before.This made maths seem easy and fun for my children when we first played it.

I own a couple of other titles from the series of BrainBox games, and this is just as entertaining as those. The box says up 1 to 8 players. It can definitely be played by 1, but it’s definitely more fun with multiple players – probably 3 or 4 is the optimum so you’re not waiting too long between goes.If you’ve not played them before, the premise is simple. The box contains a series of double-sided game cards, an egg-timer and an 8-sided die. A player picks a card, and gets the time afforded by a spin of the egg-timer to try and absorb all the information on the picture side of the card. This contains not only images, but also facts and figures. Take a look at my photos for an example of one of the cards.When the time is up, the player rolls the die and another player then asks the observer the corresponding numbered question on the reverse of the card. This might be a question about the facts and figures, or the image itself, and is often very simple but devilishly difficult to answer as you may have spent all your time remembering everything but the one detail you needed! All the BrainBox games have a different theme, and this one is The World, with each card focussing on a different country.It's beautiful in its simplicity and masses of fun to play. There’s also a lot of flexibility as you can allow a bit more or less time as you see fit, so can adapt the game and give more time to kids than adults if you like (or maybe the other way around!!). As there are loads of cards with eight questions on each, the game never gets old or repetitive. It’s also highly educational for children, demanding that you commit facts about different countries to memory – a lot of this will stick.Entertaining and educational – you can’t go wrong!
