CORRECT PARTS AT REASONABLE COST
I'd purchased one of the kits for 12 bux with all the nuts, bolts, washers, orings and gaskets. It all looked great, but there seems to be one common thread through with all those kits............the long contactor is the wrong orientation. Here's the nice thing about this kit.......both long contactors are included. I'm not sure why they include two of the short contactor. Regardless...all of my old screws, nuts, oring and gaskets were fine. The only worn parts are the contactors and the plunger. So this kit is really all you need...typically. I returned the other kit.I guess people have had problems with the plunger length. This is the shorter one.....I want to say about 3"......and was exact fit for mine.Repaired 1999 Tacoma 2.7litre.

Fits a '96 Corolla DX 1.8L w/automatic trans just fine.
This kit worked like a charm for my wife's 299,000 mile 1996 Corolla DX 1.8 L w/ auto trans. I'm a professional mechanic and have kept this great little car running for her and I've always loved how easy it is to work on for the most part. But, *I would only recommend this task to the weekend warrior with a very good skill and tool set. It is very hard to do up on jack stands, I highly recommend a lift if you have one available. The kit contains all and more than the parts needed to repair the starter solenoid plunger and contacts and my kit had the correct facing elongated contact tab that others have complained about, I can only assume that possibly manual trans cars and or other applications need it facing the other way. The kit I received had it facing as in the attached photos. I only used the plunger and the copper contacts myself and re-used the other OEM bolts, seals and plastic parts as the originals were in good shape and the copper bolts seemed of slightly different construction. I can't see why they would ever need replacing anyway. The starter needs to come out of the car from underneath and out through the passengers side drive axle opening. The hardest parts on the job are the upper starter bolt, you need to remove the air cleaner housing and the main wiring harness retaining bracket bolt to access the head of the bolt with a wobble extension and socket. The lower starter attaching bolt is the big PITA, In my case I had to get it with a 1/2" wobble extension and an impact gun as it was very tight and no room to get a decent shorter angle ratchet or breaker bar on it. My bolt was so tight it came out with stripped threads so I had to chase the trans axle bolt hole with a tap before trying to reinstall the starter. My original bolt was trashed. See the photos and hope this info helps anyone else who tries this kit out. The kit is great, the task, not so much ;-)

Not very happy... One contact not machined correctly
As others have stated one of the copper in wasn't machined correctly (As seen in the picture) rendering the kit basically useless. I used what I could like the plunger and the other contact because I guess that's better than nothing. Had no choice but to put the worn contact for the one that wasn't machined correctly back in because I don't have the means to wait for a return and go through that hassle because I need a working car. I've already waited too long. You'd think the seller would have this issue fixed by now with multiple complaints of this same quality control problem. Look for a different kit!

Had to modify it to work on my 4runner
The larger contact did not sit well, had to heat it up and bend it the other direction for the contact to actually touch the plunger. Also noticed that the contacts are only copper layered. I ordered 053660-7120, order the other kit that has both variations of the moon shaped contact if you want it to fit without modification. Gasket didn't fit, reused the old one.

Worked perfectly for my '99 Tacoma 3.4L
My starter contacts were worn down to almost nothing. $10 and a bit of labor to replace them is hard deal to beat.

Not exact fit but it works!
Bought for a 2002 Toyota Tacoma v6 starter. The gasket did not fit, so we re-used the old one which was intact. These contacts were different sized than the originals but the plunger was the correct length and it works great!

Easy repair
This kit was a near perfect fit for my 2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 3.4 engine with 28100-62030 starter. The only difference is plunger outer diameter is 1.37 original is 1.45 Not sure if .080 will matter over time but for now 15 minutes to overhaul the starter solenoid and its working like new.

Good and cheap, great value!
So let me “start” lol by saying this is the best value I’ve found for my vintage 97 Toyota Corolla with 61,000 original miles. I bought two of the same kits from two vendors. This kit was one and the other was from the other company. This kit came with everything for less than the other guys kit. The starter rebuild kit from the other guys only had the plunger and contacts. These guys had that plus cover gasket, new nuts and bolts, o-rings and washers. If asked which I’d chose, I’d say this one, hands down!! So in case you’re wondering which one to chose. Pick this one. No I’m not paid by these guys, but I find great value in their products and figured I’d make your finding good cheap parts easy by telling you my experience.
