Motion detection is really excellent and light coverage is great. It’s quite a warm white light so if you’re looking a cool white lamp this is definitely not for you. It was quite expensive when I purchased it circa £75. But currently it is way over priced. Time will tell how reliable it proves to be.Update the light is starting to fail ,some of the leds are out and other are flickering,as water is getting into it and it seems like a mould growing inside the lens area ,also it will not stay at chosen angle,it falls down , pointing straight down. There’s no way I can see to tighten it to stop this happening.Obviously I am not happy with the light at all and feel at its premium price point ,I expected better of it. It’s certainly not fit for purpose.

These light (in my opinion) look so much nicer than traditional security lights but come at a price. But are looks everything?? So after 2 1/2 years of I guess minimal use one of mine failed which to be fair after a bit of back and forth Amazon replaced the unit. The packaging suggest 5 year warranty, from Steinel Amazon said two so no idea on how that works but in the end for me it worked out ok. Of my initial purchase of two one still works as expected so maybe the other was a bit of a rogue…..time will tell!!

UPDATE AFTER 3 YEARS: Bought 5 and after 3 years 3 of them have blown up, seriously!!! I've got 2 left which I've had to seal to keep the rain out. VERY EXPENSIVE POOR QUALITY. PLEASE READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY. Now bought Klighten 24W in white, look good, only time will tell now.After 18 months I have had to repair all 5 lights. The lens cover lets in water and comes off. So many reviews quote this problem. I have sealed the lens with clear silicone, this should be done by the manufacturer, hopefully they are reading these reviews. For this reason I have down-graded it from 3 to 1 star. These are expensive units and they should be the best quality. Otherwise a good light and look great. SORT OUT THIS BUILD QUALITY STEINEL - SIMPLE FIX.Bought 5 to cover my property. They look great and are made of plastic so no rusting. Why only 3 stars then, well here's the problem, the plastic lens covers on 2 of the units have fallen off after 8mths resulting in the led unit hanging by the wires. The design of the lens is really poor, it appears to be a push fit but as the plastic expands/contracts it comes away and doesn't fit back. Being an engineer I have sealed the covers back in place with a quality waterproof bond but seriously this should not happen with a product of this price. Some reviews complain of water ingress, no surprise there, the lens cover has no seal. Next niggle is the angle adjustment of the light, yep it's true, strong winds will force the light to angle down. Not all bad though, the sensor works just fine and the light output is excellent, they use an array of LEDs so it's a really good spread of light, so no worries there. It's a smart unit compared to those awful cheap metal floodlights. If it wasn't for the lens cover and angle adjustment it would get 5 stars but to be honest I was tempted to rate it lower, come on Steinel sort it out. Let's hope the unit lasts for some years to come.

Like everything about this light . Has good guarantee and after we had had the light for 13 months it stopped working. No problem getting this replaced straight away which is all you can ask

The quality of the floodlight was first class, the adjustment the light, the daylight sensor and the timer were all simple and with an excellent range. The light output is very even and bright. Not cheap but I feel it was worth it.

I found these lights ( I purchased 2 ) to be of good quality. I found that having a separate wall bracket which you fit first & plug in connecter for the light unit made them much easier to fit so you are not trying to hang on to the light unit & connect the wires into the terminals whilst hanging on the ladder ( very good idea well thought out by the manufacturer, well done ) The sensor works very well, it is easy to adjust for dawn to dusk & time ( 10 secs to 35 mins ) & also completely directional ( I set my first light to sense as you open the back door & the other light to sense a much wider span, perfect for my needs ) I wired mine so that either sensor will activate both lights.The light units are completely directional & give out a very good light spread over a wide area & the lights are bright but not harsh ( first class ) For a change they came with good instructions for fitting, clear wiring diagram & adjustment & setting details ( again well done to manufacturer ) In the end I think that you get what you pay for & you get a 5 year warranty. When I purchased these they they were on special offer at £75 each which I feel is a fair price for a quality product & I would certainly recommend.

Having installed eight of these Steinel 20w LED lamps around my property around four years ago, I've found that all the ones exposed to the elements do not last. The sun appears to affect the expansion of the plastic parts differently and the front diffuser pops out of it sealing groove allowing moisture to enter.Eventually the LED board comes away from the sticky backing losing its illumination and the diffuser falls off completely and cannot be refitted. I have repaired some with silicone and electrical tape but needless to say that I am very disappointed. If fitting in an exposed position you will need to keep an eye on them.The ones fitted under a canopy of some kind, e.g. a soffit or eave are fine.Bottom line; I would not buy these again as they are expensive (and mine were a lot cheaper when bought) and do not last.

Nach fast 9 Jahren hatte der Vorgänger, eine Steinel Xled Home 1 einen Defekt im Bewegungsmelder, wodurch ich ihn austauschen musste. Ich bin überhaupt nicht auf die Marke festgelegt und habe das Amazon Sortiment hoch und runter durchgesehen, habe aber keine für mich brauchbare Alternative gefunden.Daher habe ich mich wieder für Steinel und diesen Strahler entschieden. Und auf den ersten Blick und der Montage war das die absolut richtige Entscheidung. Ich konnte die alten Bohrlöcher wiederverwenden, die Montage war dadurch mega einfach und schnell durchgeführt. Für ein Aufputzkabel wurden Abstandhalter mitgeliefert, eine Verbesserung zu meinem Vorgängermodell.Im Gehäuse ist jetzt ausreichend Platz für die Kabel, für die Zuleitungen wird die Klemme wieder gesteckt. Auch das macht die Montage gegenüber manchen Billiggeräten einfacher.Zusammengefasst ist der Strahler etwas teurer als vergleichbare Geräte, den Aufpreis aber auch wert. Wenn auch dieses Modell fast 9 Jahre hält, würde ich wieder zu Steinel greifen!

Perfektes helles und angenehmes (warmweißes) Licht. Auch der Bewegungssensor funktioniert wie gewünscht. Ich denke der vergleichsweise hohe Preis ist durch die Qualität gerechtfertigt.
