Had to send my original purchase back because no matter what I tried it would not connect to the WIFI. I eventually re-ordered another camera. It was easy to install (unlike the original camera). Therefore; if you run into trouble connecting to WiFi then something is likely to be amiss.Good picture quality. Some basic Ai features for human tracking, human framing, absence detection, crying detection and smoke alarm detection.Not noticed any bandwidth issues to date.I split the home router SSID to have a separate 2.4 GHz WiFi network for installation.

If your reading this you probably already now what you are looking for I rarely write reviews but sick of rubbish cameras, maybe like myself you've tried most brands of cameras available on line and your not impressed so you've returned them either because camera issues or app issues I've been there and done it and have tried dozens and dozens of cameras and apps ranging from the cheap vstarcam upto expensive £200 well known brands, bullet cams, spotlight cams, motion tracking robot cams the lot and none as consistent in reliability as vstarcameras, and believe me the cheap vstarcam is better than most expensive cameras, I've had the same vstarcameras for the last 6 years I had the black bubble ones as in the picture (silvery grey) that only cost £30 and recently upgraded to the newer design only because a friend needed security cameras for his camper van whilst he was sleeping due to vandals, they are not waterproof but can see out the window or sit under a canopy no problem, mine was under the canopy outside for years without issues, I screwed a metal chip basket over it to act as a cage and it worked 😁 I gave him mine as I liked the new design and wanted them anyway, I gave him mine because although vstarcams don't advertise (they should) you can run the cameras off small batteries, we used smoke alarm batteries and made a small battery pack. The cameras can be used without internet if you're in close proximity to them it's simply like pairing a Bluetooth device, , I've had no issues in 6 years, the only moan I've ever had like all cameras some times on initial pairing or the Toe rag internet providers mess up your WiFi (happens a lot) it takes a few attempts to set up if pairing on WiFi, I solved this by turning my phone's data off and choosing 2G3G only, (only whist pairing) it worked for me. Or unplug and leave a few minutes to reset, ethernet cable direct into camera from WiFi also is better just for the initial pairing as it can force the pairing, you can unplug ethernet when paired, pairing issues normally are due to our connections not the cameras, for the money vstarcameras are excellent, with the app you can be looking out the window one minute then instantly 360 degree spin the camera to check the dogs kids or pets or even granny, and you can speak and listen as camera has 2 way audio although speaking I haven't tried much but do check on the dogs often and hear them no problem, I've never had recording issues only SD cards that needed correctly formatting or incompatable sold by Dody sellers, night vision motion detector quality all is fantastic for such a cheap camera, If on a budget then this is perfect but to be honest it's better than the expensive ones anyway, great as a security camera, monitor the list goes on, I've been using the same brand for 6 years maybe longer and will always use vstar as price and quality is phenomenal
