Got 4 Years out of It
It seems these fan motors have about a 4-year life with regular use. I bought this motor to replace the original motor in my range hood, and now 4 years later, I'm buying it again. It fits just right, and it is very easy to install. If you can turn a wrench and plug in a cord, you can replace this yourself. The only tricky part is getting the little clip off the fan blade itself. It's simple enough with a small screwdriver, but don't lose the clip when it pops off!We use our range hood exhaust fan a lot because we do a lot of cooking. If you cook only occasionally, this motor should last you a good, long time. There are, however, some things you should know about maximizing the life of the motor. First, clean the filter regularly. Nothing will burn out a fan motor faster than trying to pull or push air through a restricted passageway. The filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Also, you should remove the fan blades and clean them occasionally. Especially if you do a lot of stovetop cooking, the fan blades can build up a lot of greasy gunk on them. Not only does it eventually reduce airflow through the fan blades, but it actually weighs the fan blades down, causing the motor to overwork. Cleaning the fan blades a couple times a year should keep the fan motor running longer. Unfortunately, I realized this only after I burned this motor out. Finally, if you're still not getting the kind of life out of the motor than you think you should, the ductwork itself may not be appropriate for this range hood. If the range hood vents to the outside, either through the roof or through the wall, the airflow through the pipes should be full-width and unobstructed all the way out. We ended up having to re-run some of the original ductwork because the original vent pipes were too narrow. The restricted airflow caused the motor to wear out very quickly. I would not have paid to have this done, but I happened to have the skills and tools to do it myself. Replacing the fan motor every couple years will probably be cheaper than re-running ductwork.

Exact Replacement
This was an identically designed and manufactured motor for a Broan under cabinet vent hood. Simple clear instructions were provided as well as replacement nuts and a washer just in case they're needed. Plugged directly into the original power connection on the hood. Took all of 5-10 minutes to remove the old malfunctioning motor and replace it with this new motor. Recommended 100%. Motor was packaged very securely to ensure it arrived undamaged.

Make sure to read instructions
Please make sure you use the star washer. Teeth must be facing up. If you don't do this the motor won't be grounded.

nice product well made and easy to install
Range Hood Fan Motor died....amazing the price is close to what I paid for the whole unit.....but much less headache to install. Took all of 15 minutes...including washing and degreasing fan blade. Much harder to get the old one out....new one went in like a breeze and 4 nuts and clip power back in and push blade in place slip clip on fan blade.....replace filter screen....turn power back on.....done

Good replacement part. More quieter
It's a perfect fit for WA6500 series and I'm actually finding it more quiter and smoother then the original one. As one of the comments stated that there is a short video on YouTube about how to replace it, which I followed and though the installation wasn't a walk in the park as you would have to work in an awkward position where access to the connector is not easy specially if you are installing it, but after that you get the feeling of 'can do anything' when you see how well this motor works. I had the option of either going to local Amre supply store or to get it from Amazon and I preferred through here due to the ease of returning if I have to within 30 days. Thank you Amazon for saving me from another bigger expense.

Not a true replacement for the WA hood fan!
The old motor wiring harness had a black, white and a green wire, which is ground. This new motor has a red, black and a white wire. What is the red wire for, if it is not a ground? How can I contact the Manufacturer for an answer, is my question now. The connectors fit okay, but when I plugged it in and turned it on, it shorted out, somewhere, either at the switch or the motor. I didn't notice. I just heard the POOF! I am reluctant to continue. Does anyone out there have an answer to my question: What is the red wire for on this motor?Correction!!! I just discovered that the red wire is for low speed! This is a two speed motor!! Note: I had to replace the speed control switch with a 3 position " bat handle" toggle switch, I.e. on- off - on Works great!!
