Very sharp edge geometry. Good balance between edge retention and toughness for horsing it wven through hard wood shaving off big chunks at a time (even some pretty gnarly knots). Would probably get the longer version if I were to do it again. Where the belly up sweeps to the tip the knife geometry is not as sharp as the flat part of the blade (as it should be for strength of the tip and the edge along the tip for drilling holes). But I find myself always shifting to use that less sharp part while in use as that's what feels natural. Another half inch added to the blade and it would be perfect. The handle is phenomenal. Do not baton with this knife as it is designed to cut and cut very well. This will be apparent the moment you have it hand

This knife is truly amazing. Scary sharp and beautiful. I use it as my primary roughing knife for making walking sticks and canes and about any cutting chore. Handle fits my large hands and it has no hot spots when using for long periods of time. It’s on par with my Helle Knives in quality. I love it and I highly recommend

These are great knives for the money. They're not fancy so don't expect them to be. If you want a darn sharp puuko for the money that's a great fit for your hand, get this one.
