Best automatic for the money
I was given the gift of choosing a watch for a milestone birthday (50), and I was overdue for something new. I splurged on a Breitling for my 30th that has worn well despite 20 years of nearly everyday use. This time around I was set on an automatic, though the "experts" made it clear that anything under $4-5k was would result in an inferior watch. I had my eye on a few models, found a number of watches I would love to own (and some that I eventually will), but decided to stick to my admittedly low budget of ~$1500. I initially dismissed Seiko as a "cheap" brand, but after finding a dearth of worthwhile watches in this price range I began listening to the blogs I trusted. When it came to a quality automatic diver, this Seiko (along with the previous "Shogun" version) was consistently the go-to watch. So I took a closer look, researched the watch and seller, and ordered the Prospex. Durable, solid, great weight and feel, classic design, excellent mechanics & movement......I couldn't be happier with my decision. One of these days I will find the Nomos, Bremont, or classic Rolex, that I want, but this watch is proof that you just don't need to spend upwards of $5k for a watch you will wear for years to come. The Prospex ranks up there with many other high-end watches on the market. It's simple, well worth the cost and a great value.

Simply awesome watch, but challenging to resize.
Awesome watch. The 6R15 movement is a great movement that has been around for quite a while, and specs can be found with a quick web search. The titanium case an bracelet on this watch are very light, and very well finished. The diashield coating really helps with scratch resistance too. Keep in mind that all watches can be scratched, but the coating will help resist minor scratches. The watch is not small at 44mm and it doesn't wear small either, but it is east to read, and quite slim for a diver watch, which really helps to make it easy to wear. If you have a small, slender wrist, this watch probably is not going to be a good fit for you. If you have at least a seven inch wrist circumference, then the fit should be fine.My only complaint about this watch is the pin & collar system Seiko uses to hold the links together. I have resized many bracelets, including other Seiko pin & collar bracelets, but this one is the clear winner for difficulty and inconvenience. Resizing this bracelet is VERY inconvenient. Proper tools, understanding of the pin and collar system, and patience are required if you wish to do it yourself.Once you get over the initial hurdle of getting it sized an reassembled properly, then this watch is absolutely awesome. It is very legible and extremely comfortable.

Excellent fit and finish, subpar accuracy.
I'll start with the pros of this watch. I mainly chose this Seiko because it's titanium and I prefer the more classic look of this watch body. The lightness of the titanium makes it a pleasure to wear. Stainless watches with bracelets are too heavy to be comfortable for me, but this one you can barely tell you're wearing. It doesn't look like it's titanium either, which is nice. I was concerned about it having the dreaded misaligned chapter ring Seikos are infamous for, but I am very happy mine is lined up perfectly. The fit and finish of the watch is excellent, and there are some really nice design cues which make the watch look like it's very high quality. Now for the cons. As others have stated the quality of the bracelet doesn't match the quality of the watch. It's definitely a little disappointing. The other big negative is it's accuracy. Mine is running 23 sec fast per day. While this may be barely within its stated accuracy of +25/-15, I think for a watch with an MSRP of $1200 this is unacceptable. I'm hoping I can improve this by trying to regulate it, but I shouldn't have to do this on a watch at this price point.

Champagne on a Beer Budget!
This titanium watch is extremely light and comfortable on the wrist, keeps excellent time and exhibits a level of build quality equal to far more expensive Swiss watches. The luminous dial and water resistance to 200m make this an excellent overall sports watch. My only criticism is the silly pin and collar system Seiko uses in adjusting the band--highly recommend you take it to a professional watch shop to have the bracelet sized. I did it myself, and wound up losing one of the collars--Seiko will send 3 replacement pins and collars free if you do decide to try adjusting it yourself. There are several videos on YouTube that will show you what to avoid! Overall, one of the better purchases I've ever made--and I've owned Rolexes.

Typical Seiko chapter ring misalignment
I was psyched to get this watch. It's super lightweight and very classy. Unfortunately, my chapter ring is misaligned and I can't get past it, so back it goes! Also, the deployment clasp should be machined for a watch of this price. The bracelet just seems too cheap and flimsy with its thin clasp.

Accurate, lightweight, and worry free.
I love this thing! I'm a watch nerd - this is the most inexpensive watch I own. For starters, 44mm is a little wider than I prefer, but I didn't have a choice on this model. It may be large, but it wears very well and is the lightest and one of the most comfortable watches I own. Honestly, this feels better on my wrist than my GMT 2. You can only get this model in Japan - shipping was fast from the seller and he responded to my emails quickly.I recently took it on a Hammerhead shark dive. The watch hit my tanks and gear, and I have yet to see any scratches. If you're on the fence, just buy it. I was able to to see the Grand Seiko Diver, which is also made in titanium, and honestly, I preferred this watch to the GS. Keeps excellent time and has a decent power reserve.Just buy it.

Brillient
Ordered Saturday and arrived today ahead of schedule. Excellent service.Stunning watch pure and simple. It has a look of pure quality on the case with subtle polished edges against the brushed faces combined with the angles around the lugs and Matt finished paint. Nice tight bezel that lines up well at 12 o'clock.Strap feels tinny when off the wrist but I've yet to have a titanium watch that doesn't. On the wrist it's barely noticeable and fits well around the hand.I've seen some comments about the thickness of the strap being thin but I am more than happy.Straight in at No. 1 in my collection.Be warned if you have more than an 8inch or 20cm wrist it might not fit mines perfect at those dimensions but won't go bigger.

Good watch, as expected in terms of quality
Good watch, as expected in terms of quality. Titanium case light but not as sometimes described in forums as "too light".

4 star pleased...
The timepiece itself is of traditional fine Japanese Seiko quality, great lightweight titanium case and bracelet, and really like the distinctive hands, and smooth second sweep. The watch keeps very good time, and will last 2 days of non-wear before automatic rewind requires a boost movement. Have yet to "wind" the stem for a recharge of internal tension spring. My only complaint is the Dia-Sheild does not protect the titanium bracelet very well. The 1st day I noted wear marks on the bracelet of the underside contact portion of wrist. For this price point, I would think this needs work. Hence 4 stars, but I use this mostly for kayaking the fresh and marine coast for fish and pleasure, with the occasional skin dive. Thereby it is inevitable that scratching would eventually occur as I do USE this watch. This is my 4th Seiko, and love them all, so this is a nice addition.
