I bought the small version of the book and love the quality of prints. I love the small size because its easy to carry around. This is a thick book and def will take some time to look over all of the beautiful artwork. I might come back and buy the larger version at some point just to have.I also don't see why people are saying the photos aren't good quality, mine looks just fine!

I own a 1910 edition of Owen Jones' "Grammar of Ornament", the pattern book that the books reproduced in this book are inspired by. I also own the Dover reprint of the same book. I was concerned when I ordered this that the printing quality would be only a pale imitation of the original, like the Dover book is to the chromolithographs in my vintage copy of "Grammar of Ornament". I was thrilled when I started paging through this massive volume. The printing is fabulous and the plates are large and sharp. The only thing missing is the metallic gold accents on some pages, but that isn't a big deal.This book is worth every penny of the cost. As others have said, it will certainly sell for much more in the collectors' market once the print run sells out. But I can't imagine anyone wanting to sell it. I've already spent hours poring over the hundreds of pages packed with beautiful and brilliantly composed and colored designs. I know I'll be spending countless more hours enjoying this book for the rest of my life.Some things are a once in a lifetime opportunity... this book is one of them.

Great quality photos, and the size fits the subject of this stylish book.

Love the book as it is filled with picture and detailed information. 4 stars bc the qquality of the pictures is not good and small. But tjis is a tiny volume. There may be a larger version available

The reviews were correct in their statements that the pictures are too small. On the other hand, there is no way on earth I could have afforded to purchase the larger version. I’m glad I bought it.

Thick heavy book with huge amounts of text and color graphics . The drawings are simple to quite complex and easy to understand how they are put together but resonable small in size which means their size it's not ideal for auto tracing a vector format . Many types of arts, many types of subject .So far because of the volume of design that it has It's the best book I've ever purchased . I also purchased smaller books that I wouldn't go without when need for artwork but so far this is the best purchase that I could find. It's like a small encyclopedia . If you work with art you should have it as soon as you afford it.

Astonishingly good examples of the pattern book’ genre spliced together. I know some have said that Owen Jones’s ‘Grammar of Ornament’ has never been surpassed but this is a contender. Whereas the BU edition is teeny weeny, this one is the other extreme, measuring a few inches more than the Studio Editions printings (which you should get rather than the tiny Taschen one if you can’t stretch to paying for this edition).

Excellent delivery and beautiful book.Inspirational for lettering,calligraphy and art work.I was disappointed about the size of the book.... I’d previously seen a much larger publication....being so small will necessitate a magnifying glass for my art work .Maybe I should have checked beforehand!

The book is gorgeous with many plates featuring many ornamental patterns throughout history. The book itself is rather small though but it was understandable because the price of it needs to be kept accessible.

The book is already a little dog-eared I like using it so much. Great for reference and inspiration
